AAAAAAAAAARRRRRGHHHHH

  The Jinx

Sorry if this breaks the swear filter but....

...that fvcking cvnting tw*t of a sh*thouse piece of useless white-flag-waving cvnts excuse for engineering called a tw*tting "sunroof" is bringing more pain to my life than ever known before. <breathes out>

Having had the fvcker out to seal it all up under the plastic frame, I looked at the motor to see why it was slipping. Put it all back in and the motor was still slipping.

However today, I get pissed wet through again! Went to check the wells at the front corners and its only winding the roof back on one side, so obviously gets stuck!

So two questions.

1: If the roof is opening to the tilted position but not sliding back on one side what could be busted?

2: where can the tw*t be leaking in now? Most of the underside of the roof seemed to be dry. And for the first time ever, it wasnt coming through the courtesy light, just the central locking receiver and sunroof switch.

If I was a dab hand with a welding rig Id weld the fvcking roof up I tells ya.

Ah yes, the ongoing sunroof saga that we all must endure in order to become master of the clio. All of the f**kers leak - its a legendarly balls up on behalf of renault and the bane of many owners lives - so you are not alone - It all comes down to the glass settling on the seal correctly or the plastic roof surround- if i were you i would take it to a garage that guarantees its work and just be done with it - amate of mine wedged some plastic in it to stop it leking but that is hardly the best way.

I have had the same problem for months now and am pretty much at the end of my teather too!! Mind you - its summer now - sell it on a sunny day and everyone shall be none the wiser!

P.S it may also be coming through the airial (unlikely) but most likely the plastic suround that sits on the roof is the problem.

Sealed round the frame mate. Dont know what to try next.

How easy/difficult would it be to put drainage holes in as mine doesnt have any?

Seriously, why DONT you just weld it up? Buy a new roof skin and headliner for a Williams, cut the old one off, weld in the new skin, and voila! Problem solved. I looked at getting this done on my valver, but I was already over budget with the other bodywork. I seem to remember a new roof skin was like £300 or something.

each runner on either side of the roof has its own notched cable(the springy things you referred to in another topic). one of these has probably snapped. i posted the seal part numbers a while ago have a look. sounds like you need a new mechanism so it may be cheaper to buy a complete sunroof from a breakers yard.
