Thought that I would start something off, to hopefully assist anybody else looking at entering this series if all goes ahead for 2014.
I have always been very keen on motor racing, as my late Father did various circuit racing, hillclimbing and sprinting, so I grew up on racetracks. So it feels nice to follow in his footsteps, just would have been nice to have him around to help but still.
Having bought the car last year, as a daily runner and a bit of fun, my first port of call was good ol' Fred at BTM Performance. Full credit to him, as his recommendations have worked very well for me this far and I hope that he will be instrumental in the further development of the car. He gave it a good look over, pointing out a couple of minor things that needed addressing but it was decided that I'd bought a pretty good example.
Within a few weeks, the necessary track bits started to be added, the intention was to keep it as comfortable as possible but ensuring that it was capable enough out on track. The modifications to date consist of Brembo HC discs, Ferodo DS2500 565H pads, ATE Blue brake fluid, a Whiteline ARB, Cup shocks and Eibach Sportline springs. The necessary cambelt, aux and dephaser have also been done this year as well as new wheel bearings, ball joints etc.
It was always my intention to do track days but to simply arrive and drive, with my road tyres, as to be quite honest I couldn't be bothered to mess about changing wheels over.

However, even though I was happy with how it went on track shod in Pirelli PZero Neros, the bug bit a bit harder and I decided to buy two sets of wheels and tyres. These being TD Pro Race 1.2s with Federal 595 RSRs in 205/50 15 for dry track use and some Lensos with 195/50 15 Toyo R1Rs for normal road and wet track times.

So now Tony has set the ball rolling for what will hopefully turn into reality. Fortunately with the modifications already on the car, I haven't got as much to spend as others may have. Having said that I need the necessary electrical cutoffs and a fire extinguisher. As well as the roll cage, seat and harness so the shopping list is still quite expensive. I also need a race suit and compliant gloves, boots etc. Most importantly I still need a race licence but I will get that in order as soon as the series is confirmed and will buy it so all the paperwork covers a whole season.
Before I get any further, I want to post some links for both myself and others to be aware of. Please feel free to add any other sites that may help.
I don't wish to say which sites are good or bad, I will leave that for people to find out. I just wish to put them here for info and other member's use.
