***Advice needed on brakes urgent***

  182cup/D40/Hornet
Right, dropped off car at vardy's Durham for first service 12400 miles on just over 2 year old(by days).Had a phone call saying the front discs are badly pitted and rusted so they will change them under warranty but they recommend changing the pads aswell at a cost of £47 something to me.I said I would rather they put the old pads back in and I'll get some different ones with abit more bite/less fade,no problem they said. After about 1 hr another phone call,'when the tech.took the pads out they fell to bits'they put the lad on the phone to explain what happened,'on taking the pad out of the caliper the pad has came off from the backing plate'.Put the service desk back on and I tried to get them to pay for the pads or half as I didn't want them pads in and now I'm over a barrel because the car now has no brakes. After abit twist I told them to go ahead with it,not happy though, the girl(who seemed helpful enough)suggested that if I could supply the pads I want they will fit them but means they've got my car till I get some.
Right chaps suggestions for some good pads, mostly road use but occasional track day

well I had thought about them, the only thing that puts me off is the noise and possibly modding them to get them in,the renault tech's might just want them to fit straight in because the gril on the desk explained if the pads don't fit they will charge me!

standard ones?they won't drop the price on them, think the standard ones are pretty crap tbh

Just get some cheap halfords one there usless but cheap then DS2500's as Fred said.

Idealy you want to get better wheel on the car stock 182 ones do nothing for the cooling of the brakes.

Is there much modding to get the Ds2500's in?
If they would fit straight in I would have a set
