Advice on 172 I’ve seen

Well I wont actually see it until next weekend but Id like to know what you think!?. Its a 51 reg 172 in silver with 10K on the clock, its up for 7995 or offers but the woman said its not been serviced yet, does this sound right?? She said shes an engineer so knows how to look after a car but the car just sits in her garage as she has a TT aswell. What do you think, how often are the service intervals and after 10K would she have clogged it up just running it up the road once a week?? Anything I should look for especially?

too expensive...ive just bought a 53 reg (14 months old) 172 cup with 14k miles...for £8995

It should definitely have had an oil change at the very least. The recommended service interval is 12,000 miles or 2 years.

I dont think any noticeable harm will have been done, but for future reference oil degrades over time as well as with use.

Id not worry about the low use or lack of a service so far because its only been done over 10k miles. If it was a decade of use like that Id be more concerned. Youd definitely need to take it for a service and then a good old thrash to get top performance IMO.

The price is about book.

ermmm 10k on a 51 plate? dont care if it had been in a garage i would be dubious, 2.5k a year? give or take 200miles a month? like ben said should have had a service, the 12k one which is due every 2 years.
