I don't really know the full cost, but intercooler was circa £50, plus boost hoses to mate up to the standard 80 pipework, but with yours being a 65, it'll be more expensive.

Yesterday I got a new battery for ventura's PH1. Went for an 027 which has a bit more cranking amps, and is slightly taller (Non issue with the battery box)

Now starts first time, everytime. MOT Thursday!

Then onto today/tonight. Had a bloody terrible day at work, loads of problems and stuff, but soon solved that by heading down to Ashford, Kent... To view, and then buy this!

HMS Derv Destroyer... Whats this? lol It leaks.

Its a bloody awesome car, £450, T&T'd until November, drives lovely. Duel mass flywheel rattles, and it has a few minor faults such as passnger window not working.

Poss the best car I've ever bought lol

s**ty throttle flap thing. controlled by vac solenoid. MENT to smooth out the engines air velocity..... ( dont know the exact thing it does or its name but i know its not needed lol )

ive took the one off the megane courtesy car at work. also that engine looks like evey other 1.9.... covered in oil and engine cover foam s**t !

only one thing to say ! TOOOOOOOOORRRRRRRRQQQQQQQQQUUUUUUUUUEEEEEEEEEEE :evil:

Thats the air cut off valve iirc. Can get a new seal for them.

Exactly what I thought it was, That'll be getting fucked off then.

Its actually very oil-free apart from that valve, its obviously had a minor boost leak on the front pipe at some point, but thats been solved and its all nice and dry.

I do hate that yellow s**t. Gearbox is good aswell!

I was under the impression it's to help when turning the engine off for some reason. I may be wrong but I'm sure that's what I was told.

its open/closed til the vac builds up, then the little diaphragm thing adjusts the angle of the flap.

i actaully dont know properly what its ment to do. other than i think its like swirl flaps in a BMW derv engine. all smooth running buls**t.

Sounds pretty gay. I guess it must be naturally open? Deffo sounds like it has a boost leak, so probs missing out on some power there! Plus it smokes a bit.

i would say so. i didnt play much attention to it, i just ripped it off whilst i was doing the egr blank. dont forget you now have a VNT turbo. i thought the meggy had a leak but its just the vnt noise. little smoke is probs all the s**t built up over the years from the egr/ turbo/cat.

good thrashing will sort that

Yeah I'll be blanking the EGR while I'm there again, fit the EGT sensor again too. I knew it had a VNT from the way it drives and revs, tis good.

Yeah I reckon it could probs do with another service too, but it'll obviously get that.

Belts easy enough to do on these? I guess same locking tools as the 1.5?

Tools are the same. Of course I've never done a belt but I remember the kit being advertised for both.

New turbo last year! Should be good for a few years yet.

Friend put a 1.9td from a megane into his mk1 Clio years ago and it flew along nicely!

Yeah exactly, I presume it's the non-fap 120bhp version. Sure it's capable of reasonable levels of power with a tweak.

Plan is to get it running at standard ish power, get a few miles down, then get power upped.

I'd love 200hp & 325+ LBFT. which should be do-able, however I'll probably kill the Pk6 gearbox.

That pk6 box will handle near 400Nm of torque

I should know as someone's got a lag' estate dci 1.9 on TDOCUK running that with bmw parts / pd 150 manifold ( made to fit ) and some rather special turbo

Tiu can probably f**k most of the pipe work off tbh. Run them nicely routed.

I keep looking at the dti 1.9s do tempting to mechanical injection on in a Clio .....

That'll be nippy, my auris was 183bhp and 297lb ft and just a bit slower than a much lighter 172. With more of each it should be swift
