mate you best watch it as you formed a legal binding contract by taking the deposit, if he wanted he could do you for breach of contract

as long as the new owner is good for the Willie:D

I think you are a bit misinformed. A contract is something binding which involves a written contract with 2 signatures.

I think you may be old enough to realise that a promise means nothing in this life, sweetheart!

First up who are you calling sweetheart? or littleboy? tw*t

Second up i would refer you to the following paragraph which is called the formation of a contract which was obtained from one of my law books.

" A contract is usually regarded as consisting of an offer by one part and an acceptance by the other.

The offer, or the acceptance, or both, may be in words (either spoken or written words)"

So vocalfusion you made an offer to sell your car, you accepted the guys offer and took a deposit = breach of contract by you

What a pleb... you met him twice? In good faith he handed over a deposit. Ever heard what the word renege means? Likewise the term gentlemans agreement

Youll find a verbal agreement is legally binding whether a deposit was handed over or not.

Here ye go...

"For a verbal agreement to be binding, you and the client simply need to agree on two things:

The services you will perform
What you will receive in exchange"
You agreed to sell, you agreed you will take money for car (you must have if you took a deposit)
well said mate....mind you doesnt that sound like a deal with a prostitute? services! ;)

I know id be mighty f*cked if someone did it to me. But as long as he gives the cash back (and perhaps compensates for petrol spent by stavros), stavo hasnt lost anything. Still a c***s move though/

Mate, u gotta see from the other point of view.

Basically if he done wot u done to him, wouldnt u be pissed off and think he was a right w**ker?

Oh and did u give him back his deposit?

Ah and I thought he was a hard man, but hed been threating all night and losing sleep, little girl!!!

Would like to give him a good kicking, arguing with the whole forum, when he is clearly in the wrong!

I done completely the opposite a few years back, i was selling my pug 106 rallye (fantastic car) and i had agreed that a guy could buy it and bring the cash round a week later (stupidly i took no deposit) and a day after someone phoned me and offered an extra 100 pound on top of what i had agreed to sell it for but i refused (the guy did come back the week later with cash and took the car). I can understand stavros would be well pissed off. But thats now between him and vocalfusion, although we all have the same opion, yes it was way out of order, i dont think we need to get this narked about it because at the end of the day it wasnt us stitched up!

This is a discussion forum, things get discussed, this is being discussed, hes a muppet for selling the car after taking a deposit off someone else, end of discussion.

Yes but what is the point in antagonising someone? Yes he was in the wrong, does that make any difference to your life in way at all? No, so ignore him and talk to someone who is worthwhile talking too....

I am very aware of what a discussion forum is thank you very much
