Does that full service history include the cambelt kit? If not, that might be the first thing to get done.
Very today car, looking forward to the new wheels!
No sadly it hasn't had cambelt done yet. Will more than likely get that done in January though. The car is going to ktec to have a new cat back exhaust, lowering springs and new rear shocks fitted by them, so I'll see if they can do me some sort of mad deal to get the cambelt done at the same time. I'm guessing that I will be looking a bill of nearly a grand though by the time I've got all those bits done! :banghead:
Any idea of how much I should be paying for cambelt to be done?
sub £500 from a specialist inc. Aux belt kit. This really should be the first thing you get done as they need to be changed at 72k or five years, and its been well over years so your working on borrowed time. Remember a snapped cambelt nearly always means new engine time! exhuast and lowering springs are useless on a car with no engine!
has it every had the aux belt changed? as that's also supposed to be changed at only 30k as well. When these go, they normally always take out the cambelt as well. Obviously gets changed when you get the cambelt done but might be a reason to drive it even less! lol. Obviously hope the worse doesn't happen for you
whilst I am extremely grateful for your words of wisdom, I fear that by you even mentioning the aux/cam belts you will have tempted faint and I will hunt you down if it goes on me haha
I think I will drive the van to go and pick the girlfriend up from work.....lol
