Alloy widths and offsets

What offset could i get away with on an 8" clio rim?

My brother in thinking of sticking a set of Stefan BCW alloys onto his car but they are 7" wide with an offset of et24.

Would such an offset cause much rubbing? And will 8" Rims rub with teh right offset?

That offset and width will stick out of the arch like a 4wd truck!! As for the 8 inch rim, i think that will rub as well, but if you go for a high offset you might get away with it.

So would the brother be as well sticking with something that has an ET35 and 7" width?

Will this be enough to reach the edge of the bodywork or slightly stick out a little?

He's going for the euro look.

I think on a 7 inch tim offset nds to be about et42, but i could be wrong, cos i'm not sure between et42 and et 38. I will be going for a 6.5 inch tim on an offset of et 38.
