Alpine ida-x305 Clio 182 05

  Clio 182
Hi all,

Newbie here. I'm planning to replace the Cabasse headunit in my clio and planning to get the Alpine ida-X305 so I can just plug my ipod in.

I've used the search function and found no one really has posted anything about this HU, so just wanted to know if anyone has one and do I need anything special (adpators, cables) or will it be a straight swap? I'm not too fussed with the stalk control...yet.

Thanks in advance.

First of all is yours a 1st gen iPod e.g First iTouch and iPhone and Nano. Or 2nd Gen e.g New iTouch, iPhone 3g and that new funny looking nano.

If so Best bet is the JVC KD-801 very nice radio with bluetooth as the new voltage charging in the 2nd gen have changed and only a few headunits compatiable.

If the KD-801 is too expensive you can go for the KD-601 or KD-701 which both are compatible with 2nd Gen iPods

The Headunit will come with adapters I belive. As you have the not as up to date iPods that should suit you well. It should be a new straight fit.

As it has a USB at the rear (should also come witha USB lead like mine did). You could run that cable into the glove box, there is a pannel in the back you can take out.

Alternativly. I ran mine into drivers foot well and up the door seems onto a phone holder on the window.

However, I recommend the JVC as JVC has taken the lead in car audio and seem to be of better quality.
