How did you beat the system? At 18 i was refused by every single company for a quote, i didnt get an absurd quote, i got told there was no chance. I guess its down to going onto your parents insurance? I cant see a paper round paying for it..

Wake up!

just remember that five years will seem like a lifetime when repaying a loan. IMO if you cant afford it confortably dont do it.

I bought a Mitsi FTO at 19, group 20 insurance.

To get the car i took out a 5 year loan and SOOOOOOOOOOO wish i hadnt!

Im in the second year of the loan and im sooo restricted with money! To move out my parents and get my own flat ive had to sell the car and go back to my 16V, and now im left with a massive debt and no car!!

Be careful!.......I did have a wicked six months with the FTO tho!

mate at work had a focus RS at 20 and now has a mitsi evo8 fq300 at 21,

and i know some1 who has a valver with a williams engine at 18, that must be pricier than a williams and thats with no no-claims

i could buy a willy coloured valver, but i want the actual car, i want that power, the handling.. i wanna hav a willy like, n just proper keep it in good nick, clean it every week, have it in garage nice n warm! make it worth some cash n then go for a drive, just would be ace!

  Sinclair C5

just think when your mates are going down the pub having a laugh and you have to stay in to pay your loan off , still be so keen to clean it and stuff then??

no car is worth it mate (in my opinion) the novelty will soon wear off but the 5 years of payments wont go away..............

Why does he need to wake up fella if its what he wants.

How many people on here have got themselves in £7-27k debt for there 172/CUP/182/Vee most apart from the lucky ones of course.

This guy is talking about a £3500 car over 4 yrs will be about £100 a month.

I put in £4000 on this, if you can get a decent willy for £3000-£3500 it will leave you a lump to pay off part of the insurance.

i reckon mate, as long as you are not puttin every penny towards it, then go for it... sounds like you really want one, but just be careful! heard they are pretty powerful! and remember to budget for services and other things like that.

that car looks like a pile of cr*p & its not an actual williams either, its a 16v made to look like a williams.

there is a post on here about it, me persoanlly if i want to buy a shed, ill go to B&Q.

Its not a williams if thats what you mean. Its a hybrid like mine.

Mine has got full williams interior but dont have the wheels or stickers thou or the w**k sticker on the engine.

That one has got williams dials but no gear knob interior or carpet and i doubt it has got the seat belts either.

Arch will cost you approx £300 depending on where you go, mine cost £310 last year when i got my drivers rear arch replaced.

Save up for it mate (not that e-bay junk). Dont sell your b**locks to the devil to have a car that you eventually cant afford to run or if you can afford to run it means that you cant afford to do anything else (like go out at the weekend).

Remember its an old hot hatch at the end of the day and most people buy hot hatches to use the performance (i.e. rag them) and not to tootle to the shops. Things will go wrong/break and if its pushing your budget to the limit just to buy/insure it youll be left with an expensive immobile lounge.
