I'm assuming that it was originally enclosed in the old fan housing and when we changed it, it was just hanging free so sam kindly made a enclosed box for it, I'll get a pic soon so you can see

Had abit of time tonight (in the rain ) to fit my samco hoses and new leads. With help from my brother we cracked on draining the coolant and removing the old pipes and after a couple of hours and lots of bleeding fingers was finally removed the old pipes which was a right pain not having the correct tool to get the clips off, but got there in the end and pleased with the result looks like abit of a blue mess in the picture haha also got to say the leads are a rubbish fit compared to oe, is that normal didn't have any misfires on the way home but not 100% happy with them

like the look of the blue in the bay, mine is going in for RS2 soon, went for the blue colour scheme to go with my coolant hoses and leads. will post some pics up once complete!

What would be the easiest to paint cover? Taking it off? Or dropping the bodies off and just go wild?

you cannot just remove the cam cover....

Best bet it masking over and going nuts with the spray paint

Yea doesn't it need re-sealing ect if you take it off? I'll just leave it on on cover everything as best I can! It was tdf rollers where it made the most power

yeah you'd be mad to take it off to paint it..unless you can change the cambelt yourself that is

haha cheers I'm more then happy with the power its got now, Matt said with cams and bigger injectors should be looking at 217ish and I don't know how much torque, but for now I'm just going on a weight loss mission when I get time!

Sam if you find a good way to spray the block/head/gb etc without having to remove anything, pop over my way and do mine too I think if my GB ever goes i'll PC that, and maybe the mount when the mounts go. Don't really want to be disturbing things if they dont need it. I've had my rocker done and cam cover, alternator brackets now, but the rest lets it down.

aircon removed, standard cams, itbs iirc. Running omex ecu. not sure on the zorst though. Good figure for sure.

haha. same really If you have a look at chrispy's thread, he made it look quite simple, but most of his pipe work was out iirc.

Yea it does seem abit of a freak engine I'm most surprised at the peak torque figure I don't see how it could get any better really haha

Get masking tape and newspaper and just mask round the rocker cover and put news paper around everything else. Easy peasy

You did have all hoses, wiring, and cross members remove though Tempted to do it though.

Just had a good look in the bay I reckon it would be rather simple once everything is taped up, would you just paint over the bolts? As I'm guessing they need torque them back up?

If you mean rocker cover mate, I've wire brush drill bit mine come up good. While they were off obviously

Yea are they ok to take out while I paint? Or do you need a torque wrench to put them back in?

Leave them mate, you shouldn't really disturb the cover as it holds cams in.
