Another Keyed my car Thread

Just looked and once wasnt enough they had to do it twice. one isnt v deep but the top one is. any advice on polishing it out?

How deep is very mate? might be a case of some very light wet sanding and buffing that back up. I normally use some mer scratch remover stuff and then start buffing it with some megs 80,83 etc

erm not sure how to describe the depth really. first one is a surface scratch second it i dont know maby 1-1.5mm just guessing lol

If you can catch the scratch with your nail it needs re-spraying. Sorry mate. =(

Mine was on the rear quarter panel = had the whole left hand side done as it wouldn't of blended well

this usually is true because if you can feel the scratch with your naail it means the surface of the laquer is broken,underneath that is the basecoat,so if you try and flatten the scatch with eg 1200 or 800 you will rub through what is left of the laquer and ull start to rub the basecoat and once you do that it makes it look worse than when it started off.

In most cases it is though esp with basecoat and Laquer

Wet finger test works better for me. Wet your finger rub it across the scratch if it disapears it will normally polish out lol
