Anyone got a new dynamique SX?

  Focus MK2 1.8TDCi
i'm thinking of getting one, with the 1.2 turbo engine. i wanted a bigger engine, but that's been forgotten about, as i cannot afford the fuel costs any more, if i got something like a 2 litre. (i have atm got a basic 1.2). my local renault dealer don't have any of them in, and i'm wondering what people thought of them. it's a basic clio, but with a full sports kit on. i know that cars look totally different in actual pictures than that from the dealer.

this is one of the official pictures.

what do people think of it? lookswise?

it's supposed to be reasonably quick with a 0-60 time of jus over 10 seconds. not bad from a 1.2

  Whichever has fuel
I had one as a demo in work, very good cars tbh. Amazing fuel economy for what is essentially quite a heavy car.

And they're not too bad performance wise either. quicker than you'd expect.

Looks good, keep ringing around dealers to find one that has one - no substitute for a test drive. I had to ring around 20 dealers and drive 45 miles to see the spec and test drive the engine that I eventually ordered.

i'm thinking that that may be the case with the SX, as it's a special edition. i had a brief look in renault wirral the other day, but i literally had a brief look in, and out again, and didn't see one. Next time, i may go with my dad, and get a few brochures.

Drove a load of these now, and they are good little cars. Pretty quick too. And the mpg is good on the wallet!
Get the SX, it looks better with that subtle kit on.

iv got the dyn s in 1.6 guise, not too bad. Reasonable turn of speed and comfy on mway

Get mine on the 1st of December, quite a waiting list though. My local dealer had around 10 at the start of September, when the new plates came out. When I ordered mine on September 24th, I'm part of a waiting list with about 6 other people. The guy said they were amazingly popular. Test drove it 3 times to make sure I liked it, it's much quicker than my 1.2 16v (if you can call cars in this range quick) plus it looks bloody smart!

Go for it, you probably won't regret it.

I might test drive one of these with a view to upgrade next september, think they'll laff at me if i ask for a test drive because i'm only 17. i've got a 55 plate clio now though so they know i have some money behind me.

the fuel on the 2 litres isnt bad u know! as ive said many times, i get about 10-15 less miles per £10 of fuel in comparison to my ford ka!

  C-VXR, T8 Map 220BHP
Corsa vxr 35.4 mpg orver about 31.2 for a 197. same speed.

SX seems to be a good mix or eco and speed tho. have a test drive tho

the dci 106 sx isnt 35quid a year to tax its basicly a dynamique s with the sports styleing kit ;) id have the dci 106 personaly if i change my clio im haveing one i love that body kit

if your looking at a demo model to test drive as long as its got the tce lump then its going to be the same experience

rare as hens teeth they not cheap either i see one every so often
the 1.2 is 11.5k the dci is 13.5k

when i used to hammer f**k out my 1.2 16v all the time i got 280 miles to a tank of petrol, the 172 gets 250 miles to a tank driving it the same so its not any worse on petrol tbh, infact i get better mpg around town in my 172 than i did in my 1.2

anyone know if anyones remaped one of these yet? can imagine they're probably pretty nippy in the twingo but not the big heavy clio lol

I've got the new Clio Dynamique SX 1.2 TCE 100, had it around a month now. Was initially disapointed with it performance wise, doesn't feel any quicker than my old '02 Clio 1.4 and certainly not as nippy. But its more of a refined car now and controlled whereas the old one you could tend to chuck about abit more. Overall impressed with the ride quality and comfort, and looks aren't bad either. Hopefully they'll be a few engine tweeks available soon to make the most of that TCE lump.

well the the power to weight of the mk2 1.4 and the mk3 1.2 TCE is proba bout the same, i like the look of them but i'll wait for them to come down on price before i'd think of one, mind oyu ive got my eye on a megant GT dci 130/150 in future (on the meggy the 150 and 130 engineers seem to have almost identical preformance and economy figures? where the extra 20 hp going?)

Yeah i've got an SX. Had it about 4 weeks. Its the DCI 106 SX Six-speed version. Have to say i am more than pleased with the car so far. I'm getting about 50mpg at the moment, not near what was stated but its still good. As for performance i'd have to say it does shift very well indeed. It's very very quiet for a diesel and i love the bodykit that it comes with. As for he car itself the build quality is far better than my old DCI Extreme 3 (65). Basically it's a totally different car, as i was told by renault, nothing about the car is the the same as previous models and i have to agree as the car feels much more solid and looks very stylish inside and out. The best feature in my opinion is the 6-speed gearbox, very smooth and it pulls away with ease in all gears.

Looking forward to the mods. In the mean time gonna save enough cash up to lower it a few feet

Had a Dyn SX TCE until Monday and my thoughts after 5000 miles in 2 months were...

+ Quicker than it feels
+ Very Quiet compared to the 197
+ Reasonable economy (with a light foot)
+ Nice Subtle Bodykit

-Steering too light for my liking
-No Reach adjustment to steering (unless you get he handsfree card)

But you can't order a brand new SX from the factory now - would have to be a Dynamique S with the optional bodykit! (which is better specced now)

as richard said, no more orders on the SX. but for the money, the Dyn S over the Dynamique is a hell of a good package!

50mpg is good, I'm lucky if I get 44mpg out of my DCi106 and I've done nearly 3000 miles.

Why are they not accepting any more orders for the SX??
