Anyone with Brembo MAX & GreenStuff Pads

Hi,

My osr wheel bearing failed, they changed the bearing but now the disc clunks when braking, the garage state the disc must be distorted as the bearing went in germant and i had to drive 700 miles with the whine.

Looks like now i gotta fork out 190 odd for the rear discs/pads with complete bearings fitted. But thought change all brakes now.

Anyone have the Brembo max/greenstuff setup been quoted 146.00 from gsf. Was gonna change fluid to 5.1 too at sametime.

The car is not gonna get driven hard at all but i wanna improve braking.

Just wanted to now if anyone had this setup and if the disc wear is gonna be high with greenstuff pads.

Thanks

im currently running greenstuff pads, brembo max discs, moquip stainless lines and ap dot 5.1 fluid

was running carbon lorraines but they ate my wheels and trashed the paintwork so i had to clay it every other week lol

switched to the greenstuffs as i only use the car for road use so don't need too aggressive pads

the greenstuffs are great pads as a replacement/upgrade from standard pads

they obviously aren't as good as the ds2500's but they are fine for fast road use, iirc they are rated for fast road cars upto 200bhp

the new greenstuff formula leaves no brakedust and doesnt squeel and does a top job when combined with my other setup

disc wear will be minimal as it isnt an aggressive pad

Eh wrong greenstuffs are s**t mate. I've tried them and found a well better pad in the Mintex 1144 paired with brembo max discs!

No there not. They are just not the in same league as 1144.

Yellows aren't much more and match 1144's easily. I bet they are cheaper too.

I find greenstuff pad with max disks a good combo though they are prone to fade if pushed hard on a good b-road. The low ammount of brake dust they create is also a bonus!!!

greenstuffs are obviously going to be shite when you compare them to a more track focused, more aggressive and more expensive pad!

thats why i said they are a good replacement for standard pads for fast road use but not as good as the likes of carbon lorraines and ds2500's

for the use the guys after greenstuffs fit the bill

Is it worth stainless steel pipes, the ren specialist garage said they are more for looks.

you might as well fit them, the standards expand under higher pressure whereas braided lines don't

they are for function not looks, you can hardly see them anyway lol

ive got brembo max and greenstuff pads on my 172, they are brilliant for normal/light fast road use as you get basically no brake dust.

but they fade to quick for my liking after only a few times using them, ill probably go for DS2500 next time, be keeping the brembo max disks tho their fine.

i had makavellis set up and on track @ bedford it was more than adequate but having sat in a car with ds2000 they are better though, but nothing wrong with greenstuff tbh
