Asthmatic Valver....

Over the past few weeks Ive noticed, above approx 3500 revs, that my car makes a weird whining noise. It sounds like a chronic ashmatic breathing out!! The noise seems to stop when the car warms up......

Ive checked for OAPs under the bonnet and tried an inhaler in the air intake but that didnt work

Anyone else had this happen? (Standard airbox on my car)

Speedo cable AFAIK !! mine does it too and Ive been told that this is the problem !! I will eventually change it, but it seems like a b**ch of a job !!

I only changed mine about 3k miles back though, before that it clicked all the time. Why would it stop when warm though, Im confused? I thought it would do it all the time if it was the cable?

My cable is clicking at the moment. How much did you pay for a new one including labour?

I get a noise resembling metal grinding at 100mph, as I drive like a pleb I get this noise alot, never been concerned but perhaps now have the solution!!
