I have just bought a new kit from renault and the tensioner "spring" is solid ? I assume this tensions the belt so should move, my old one can be compressed although not easily.
Is this right before I go back to renault ?
Cheers
ps I managed to fit the old one with a jubilee clip and leavered the alternator to tighten belt what are the proper renault tools?
Cheers again

I don't know why people are obsessed with this jubilee clip idea. It's crap and dangerous

proper way of doing it, with a proper tool

I've ordered the bits to make a few of the tool I made so a few people can buy one. I'll put a thread in group buys or something when I've done them

Cheers Dan I will have one as I used the old tensioner for now and need to revisit it.
