Bad Tuning & work shop work

Sometimes people just mess up so bad, its not worth giving them a second shot at your pride and joy just to mess it up even worse and then try and pretend its not their fault and you have to pay for it.
Maybe it was someone new who worked on his car, maybe they just didnt give much of a monkeys.
Personally I have cut corners in some of my jobs when at work, have you?
Why should a mechanic working for a basic wage be any different?
If you go to a smaller specialist where only a couple of people work they are far more likely to care about every job IMHO (not a dig at ktec specifically, but just any bigger company in general) and they have a vested interest in doing a good job far beyond what someone working as a mechanic at a dealer or large independant does.
If people are getting rushed to do a job quickly it can encourage them to cut corners they should know better than to cut, although I cant comment on if that happened in this specific instance or if the person trying was just clueless.
Hi, I was going to take my Car down to KTEC on the 23rd of this month to get their TCE map put on my car. They offered me an 135BHP estimate. Now I've seen this, and considering the car has only done 10k miles; I don't want a popped engine as the car wasn't cheap either (8100)...
Definitely KTEC were talking about here? If so, I'll go local as I live in Wales, it won't be worth the hassle to travel if I can't get the quality they promise.

This thread definately refers to Ktec "racing" in dorset.
If you dont mind a bit of a travel, I believe that Paul at RS Tuning is very good with the TCE, might be worth talking to him?
Travel won't be a problem, as long as I can get the car home! Feeling extremely lucky that this thread came to light! I'll give the man a shout now, appreciated.

At the moment I'm in Wales and all of the Renault Reputable garages seem to be miles away. No issues with Traveling and I've asked RSTuning for a quote. I thought they only did the Clio RS'es? If not, they should definitely make people aware they do others too as I remembering skipping completely passed it.

Rather than them giving them the chance to offer you something you could give them a choice of refund / partial refund or corrective repair.
THe problem you have ( as I did ) is unless the evidence is provided by Renault & not another specialist how do you PROVE that the second specialist doesn't have a benefit to their business by discrediting KTEC- ( im not saying that's the case)
The photos are good- but if the work has now been corrected then KTEC will be able to wash their hands of it of they want as you didn't give them the opportunity to correct- of course if you have zero confidence then you may not want to, but you do cut your options down if you get any remedial work done prior to contacting them in the first place.

Bit gutted to hear this as they seem to be the only place that advertise this cam and map package drivein drive out style ... Who else does it and what's their price I'd like to have some wild cams in mine and a decent map was looking at the 428,s I believe as I love a lumpy idle and considering the cams are £750 £1300 didn't seem too bad fully installed and mapped....
Best to buy the cams separately then go to MWM for mapping
