Badged up Bullsh*t

Saw a Vaux cav this morning, lowered with alloys, complete with 2.5 badge 24v badge from an omega - come on, whats that about??

Also Mondeo st24 (nice car) complete with stick on, wonky cosworth badge

FFS! Why badge up? - badging down is the way forward! RT badge on my valver? Why not! Scare the f**k outta some people!!

:)

Yeah saw a clio mk2 on monday with the sport badge (on the wrong side) and sport written under neath the letters on the numberplate. Desperate! Luckily the lady driving was rather nice..

The thing is the only people who will notice is enthusiasts, and theyll know youre telling porkies!

there is a mondeo around here like that its painted a lime green colour with cossie badges on only thing is it does have a cossie lump in it

I love seeing old knackered Fiestas with plastic XR2 kit stuck on with super glue. Saw a Saxo with LED washer jets on this morning which made me laugh.

Ive colour-coded over the "16v" on the side strips of my car - so now all the warning people get is the bonnet bulge and massive arches/bumpers (which should be enough really!).

Well seeing as how they did do a 2.5 litre V6 engine in the Cavalier, it might well be correct...

Worst I ever saw was an Escort in full Cosworth WRC trim with Valvoline paint scheme and all the body work. Shame about the drum brakes on the rear. I later saw a magazine article on the car and it was a diesel! The car is probably still running around Ireland!

Over here most people debadge their cars, especialy if they are really nice ones. Mercedes, BMW, Porsche and others offer it as a no cost option when ordering the cars new.

Not many badges on a Ferrari!

Yeah, was just about to add that the 2.5 V6 was developed while the Cavalier was still in production and a few later models did have it fitted. It wasnt their performance flagship or anything though - I think it made just over 160bhp.

Mine has no engine related badges at all - no 16v nothin, just renault and clio on the back...

MMmm... stealth mode!

eddd there is one like that near me too exactly the same actually

phill im not sure i have never got that close to it, you just hear it instead :D

Well a RT badge on a valver would be easily spotted to anyone who new about the clio. But its for the a similar reason I want my RT as powerfull as possible (ie GTT engine conversion) so it looks like an RT but god can it shift. The only question in my mind is this: if I want it to be completely discreet that its got a tad more power than a standard RT I should have a silent dump valve. But there would be the odd occasion (plus i like the noise) when I would want the atmospheric dump valve. I aint even got the cash for a conversion yet, so its hardly a pressing issue. But I just cant decide.

Yeah, i dont like dump valves being too loud, my mates nova is constantly making the noise, it just gets irratating. The dumpvalve on my dads Smart is just right!

Yes its a brabus one with the centre exhaust and everything, its really a good laugh, ideal to learn car control being rear engined and RWD, they pop up on trackdays often. Sounds like a Audi 5cyl as well!

erm you cant replace a dumpvalve with a wastegate you have them both if you dont want noise then you need a re-circulating dump valve not a vent to atmos one

Yeah ive seen some, their funny, some people put merc badges on for a laugh, ours says smartarse instead of just smart on the back

Well, dumpvalve/wastegate whatever - Id say get whatever it is that makes the chirrup noise! Heard them on scoobys and R5s at a couple of rallys Ive been to. wwwwwwwwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrgggggggggggghhhhhhhhh - CHIRRUP - wwwwwwwwwwwwwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrr.... you get the idea!:)

trust me i get the idea mate i like that noise but its no match for mk2 escorts / chevetts / 6r4s blatting through dalby forest in the mist hehe :D

Have you seen when people take later model escorts (like Mk 4 shape - rs turbo/xr3i etc) and convert them to RWD? Theres a proper name for the conversion but i cant think what it is...

Lol. I love the brabus monoblock wheels. Sounds miles better than a 172, look at the seats, full on race style, and theyre standard!
