Been told that a Twisted Dogbone Mount will fit a Phase 1...

As title really, I was under the impression that the twisted Ph2 dogbone mount would not fit a Phase 1, but I have just been told by a respected seller on here that accidentally sent me a Ph2 mount that it will "100% fit" anyway.

Am I being stupid?

They said "The dimensions of the mount are the same, they introduced the twisted mount in 2003 due to bush failing in the earlier variety, thats why the large bush is solid with no air gap around it, it reduces engine movement... i 100% can confirm the mount will fit and is an improved version of the standard PH1 172"

Just been under the car and you all are right,

Totally different, and think that line about it changing in 2003 is balls too.

Didn't some late phase 1s have the twisted mount as well or am I imagining it, can't remember :)

Look for the hole in the bottom of the gearbox that the twisted mount fixes to. if there is one, then it will fit, you'll just have to remove the big black bracket on the box that the ph1 box has, and find the reenforcing bracket a ph2 uses
