Benboys Clio 200 Liquid Yellow!!

Hi all,

might start a thread as things are comoing along with the clio. Love the motor had a few french cars in the past but this is the best built.
The clio only had 18k on the clock and was mint, soon as i saw the car in the sun it was a done deal

Since getting the motor a few months back had the wheels repainted as they previous owner had them done on the cheap.
Fully clay bared with swissvax best of show applied (mental wax expensive though couldnt afford a whole pot)
K&N panel filter (was tempted by ktec induction but the cost and the insignificant gains made no sense)

Hopefully in the next few months to ktec for cat back system and sport cat as well as remap.
Bugger all torque in the clio low down so hoping remap will see to that.
Got a slight knocking noise from front suspension which I think is a top mount also on my list of things to do.

Fews pics below, not sure I want to do too much to the exterior as I love the look, possibly 30mm springs and 20mm spacers and few carbon bits and I think job done.

Very nice, since my 182 was written off it's diesel all the way for me. Fill up every 4 days in the Clio, every 11 days in the diesel. I would love one of those if my commute wasnt 65 miles a day.

Thankfully I live only 2 miles from work lol so dont even really need the car. Couldnt bring myself to sell it though.

Its surprisingly alright on fuel to be honest, well in comparison to my last motor which was an rx8 a tank was more economical

Finally got some funds together to do some bits to the clio.

Seen some great pics on this forum of clio 200's on H&R lowering springs with spacers which got me thinking.

EMP performance sorted me out the springs and 19mm hubcentric spacers all round (25mm was too wide really) and the car sits alot better and feels more nimble in quick turns. I would say the ride quality is slightly firmer but nothing too serious.

One thing I have noticed is a fair bit of wheel wobble between 60 and 70mph can only assume alignment needs doing, as the tracking has been widened.

Overall really happy with the changes, looks more agressive (rides quite high as standard) and handles better to.

Next mods-- colour code the silver door handles and some of those carbon effect side skirts from K-TEC, as they just look awesome.

Looking good, are you going to fit a cup spoiler to go with the skirts?

have you seen the lower part of the front bumper vinyl wrapped? It looks awesome, and projector headlights, they'll finish it off

I was considering the cup spoiler but after a while I decided I quite liked the more smooth look.


The skirts I love, no idea why I just think they look cool but pretty expensive for what they are.


I was planning on taking the car to KTEC let them loose on it. New cat back system and sport cat with remap, get rid of the annoying flat spot issue and the standard exhaust doesnt really have much grunt to it lol.


Think this car might be a keeper I just wish it a bit more poke, the lack of torque is an issue on the standard car which I am hoping the remap sorts.

not poted an update on the car for a while. I was half tempted to shop the motor in for a megane 250/265 but opted against it for now. Next year maybe

KTEC sprint spoiler- still not sure, only seems to suit certain colours, white and red yes but not sure on yellow
New style RS rear badge

Whats coming up;
door handles painted gloss black and bullets colour coded yellow with black logon
Front diffuser pin stripe gloss red on the front like some of the megane 265's (think its called the red pack)
