Best MPG you’ve had from your Cup

  Pink & Blue 182, JDM DC2

I know most of yall probably thrash your Cup loads, I do as well, but when on long company journeys where they pay 40p a mile, I try and get the most out of my fuel as possible becuase that way I get even more money back.

Yes I do admit, it is pretty slow going, 60mph almost all the way is usually the order of the day, and no harsh accelerating or braking. I often have a long drive from Tunbridge Wells down to Honiton or Tavistock in Devon, which for the best part is national speed limit on the A303/A30.

My current record, after a 180 mile drive, is 54.6MPG.

Anyone else had a crack at this? I told my local Renault garage and they were well impressed.

When i did the 2500 miles round france it averaged 48.7, which i was well impressed with!

Managed 99.9 mpg in the old dci though once lol!

I havent reset my trip for about 3000 miles now and have managed a rather pathetic 27.something...

Think youll find that the reading on the computer does NOT match up with what you actually get.

Checked mine yestarday actually when I re-filled as I thought it had got worse in this cold weather, so I did a tank full of "normal" driving and results were...

Trip Computer - 35.9mpg
Miles Covered - 301 (to light coming on)
Fuel to re-fill - 43.32 litres

Actual MPG - 31.6mpg

Its been up in the 50s in the past and I did an average of 40.9mpg on a full tank going to Pod once, but I know it just aint so.

You lot should do the calcs and see what you really get...

I have to fill up this week anyway, so will check then.

I find normal fuel (95 RON) is useless in my Cup and have to use 97 RON or similar. If i use 95 RON I can get through £5s worth in about 15-20mins of inspired motoring! LOL.

  Weeman sucks ****

I regularly have 35-38 mpg on the dash, and thats when I dont hang around. Which in fairness, is bloody excellent I think.

I once put Optimax in and it didnt last long at all. The annoying thing is I get a feul allowance at work and the petrol station round the corner doesnt even sell 97 RON. But, I cant grumble, I get £30 a week and only do 7 miles to work.

Have only done 375miles since new, but have not reset the trip computer, and have done one long-ish journey and lots of round town.

On the A1 to Newcastle (at no more than 3,500revs) was getting 42.3mpg.

Around town (way to work etc) am getting 32-33mpg.

Ive had mine as low as 22 mpg, reseting at the begining of a 30 mins blast with my pal in his MR2. Best ive seen is 43 mpg going to Braemar.

I managed 99.9 in my Cup - it will not go any higher!

Go along about 30mph in 5th gear down a slight hill using no gas, but make sure you keep to 30mph. Now reset the trip computer. About 5 seconds later it will start at about 40mpg, then go up and up and up and up until you hit the roof - 99.9mpg!

Last week I got an average of 38.1mpg. I was quite impressed with that. Next Monday I am doing a trackday so if I do more than 15mpg I obviously wont of been trying hard enough.

Also how about this new bp stuff, any people been using that for a bit? Hopefully sorting my pimp little b**ch soon (cup that is), till then im all ears.
