Best of luck 172 cup drivers!

Car  Engles Mummy
Minus temperatures have arrived!

Good luck to you all!

Drive safely :)

I'm a little bit nervous as I recently just bought a v6, which is going to be very exciting on the ice!

You spin me right round baby right round.....

Easy on the loud pedal this time of year - And that applies to everyone, not just the Cup drivers. Although for the last couple of winters they've followed each other like lemmings into the hedge bottom. lol. And that's a slight on the pilots, not the car!!!

Thats true,i cant remember ever using the abs on my 172 or 182.You have to be pretty stupid or too close to someone

ian

lol...abs is s**t......for ppl who cant drive proper cars...they need all the help they can get ;)

bit like...tc, esp etc etc etc

Yup.

Some people need to learn how to drive. V6 handles as well as any car, but not any driver. ;)

i have neither

on any of my cars.....electronic bullshit not tellin me how to drive......i passed the driving test...why should i let a computer drive my car for me??

;)

I'm due a crash this winter. The apparent laws of probability that apply only to non-ABS equipped 172 Cups mean there's a ditch somewhere with my name on it.

I'll make sure I carry my digicam around with me so you can all share the joy when the inevitable happens ;)

that actually made me LOL!

my back end slipped out this weekend, going round a junction at seriously about 10mph, and i almost ended up facing the wrong way... the car waiting at the junction must have wondered what was going on

Lol, ESP - Check, ABS - Check, 4WD Check.

I'm going to become one lazy ass driver with all this s**t on my car, at least I started in the right place with a Saxo VTR with none of it on and survived 3 winters in that with only one crash, didn't have any tread on the tyres then tho so was making it even harder on myself. Then onto a 172 FF with just ABS and now I have everything not sure if that's a good or bad thing

Had my first scare yesterday, was thrown sideways after one of the rear wheels went over a manhole coverm. Luckily it only happened at about 15mph!

dunno why you all pick on the cup boys, my berlingo has got shite tyres and no ABS, i almost had some pen15 in a vecta run into me the other night on hard braking, and he had ABS!!!!!!

its all in the foot control ;) Go the Cup boys ;)

lol......shows how bad the majority of drivers are wen the manufacturers start fittin this s**t for safety...safety would be knowing how to handle the car in the first place ;)

The only reason we have airbags is Americans that can't be bothered to wear seatbelts...

yeah but the yanks are dumb enough to believe that some air bags were fitted with special prize tickets inside em....to win new cars etc....lol

there was a massive influx of yank tanks crashin to set the airbags off wen they first came out..the drivers wanting to see if theyd won owt

btw....nowt wrong wi not wearing a seatbelt...i used to wear mine....but it nearly killed me.so now dont bother with em tbh.

the days before it became law to wear em are where its at ;)

The airbag was 1st invented by J W Hetrick in the states back in 1952

The first ever production car fitted with an airbag was an Oldsmobile Tornado in 1972 - we were driving round in Morris minors then and we were lucky if they were fitted with a f**king steering wheel

They did not meet market requirements in the states as the public assumed if a car had such a drastic safety device it must be unsafe.

Yet again the yanks are 25yrs in front of us with there ideas and technology

just a shame they cant shoot straight.....or drive round corners ;)

must also be said.....that the yanks with ideas are generally german(in the case of rocket/missile advancements) english(in the case of science) and evry other nationality.

spose we have the yanks to thatnk for mc dees burger king and neons..lol

drive safely all. :race:

I had my vx220 last winter, and that got slightly entertaining at times to say it nicely!

a cup is comparably easy to drive in the winter :)

LOL at that post.

You should try rear wheel drive... you have to reverse up hills in the winter and do 2mph round corners!!!

I have to say, I never had any problems with my Cup (not even any near misses) in the winter time.

I've got a v6..probably one of the worst cars to start in for the winter!

and yet most of the wrecks we see on "pimp my ride" would not pass an MOT test in this country?!

Im thinking the cup should be an easy ride compared to the MX-5 (rear wheel drive) i had previously!! hopefully wont be practicing pirouettes this winter

Haven't the 182 Cups got ABS on em anyway??? Just wondering whether I should tell the missus!!! haha

Best of luck to everyone

I rode to work this morning and when I got in there was ice on my jacket. cables & bike....not nice.

Go easy

Drive safely everyone, whatever the car. I saw a few accidents yesterday where people lost it, my dad had a near miss too, some one lost it on a bend and nearly had a head on collision into him! Take it easy :)
