BG 182

Bought a fiesta st on finance. Got a new job and sold it cause it wasn’t being used.

Put a clio 182 into daily use. Got annoyed at it breaking all the time.

Bought an m140. Brilliant daily.

Still get the itch to dump the good daily and run about in a piece of s**t hot hatch. [emoji23]

Best thing about a loud s**t daily is that you can just drive it like you stole it because it costs about 45pence to fix😂 That and all the gimps that reckon theyre 'ard as f**k in their Insignia or 1 series diesels get mugged by an 18 year old Clio

I bet they're ace on winters, would you got for a 205 width or 195?

We had a bit of freezing rain the other day, getting out on PS3 was a bit of a challenge ;)

Havnt washed it in ages, mainly because of the cold weather and rain we have had! Roads have been salted/gritted more this year and the car was pretty filthy.

Amazing how it just seems to sit inside the fuel flap! No wonder they rust.

Took a fair bit of time to get it looking presentable especially as it was still freezing outside! Ended up giving it multiple rinses/snowfoams just to break down the grime before I went at it with the wash pad.
I got some gyeon bathe for christmas so tried this out and was really impressed! Used about 10ml to a bucket and it was proper suddy. Finished with a gyeon wet coat which I'd also not used before and was amazed at how well it beaded. Perfect for winter cleans when you want to be outside for the least amount of time possible!

Unfortunately the bubbling has gotten worse on my rear arch so I'm on the hunt for a decent bodyshop to sort it out. May aswell get the fuel filler flap done whilst I'm at it.

Started to give the inside a clean and got sidetracked by all the badly routed wiring inside. This has been down to dashcam installations, terrible alarm wiring and then the usb fitting I did when I first got the car.

Spent most of today rerouting all the dashcam wiring and making it much neater then also removed the usb as it snapped on the cap.
The wiring for the alarm LED is just something else. They bundled up these wires and just tucked them away..

Found the connector within but theres way too much cable either side of this! Going to de-pin and shorten it. Managed to snap the connection to the LED so can also cut back and resolder this too.

Also swapped over the injectors with the brand new genuine set. Nice to have clean new clips! Managed to get fuel in my face when disconnecting the rail so watch out for that pressure 😂

Removed the heater channel tubes that I'd originally cut back when fitting the xlow subframes. Going to 3D print some plugs and get them fitted so it's not just heating up the cup holder.

Let me know about the blanks for the heater vents

I cant have a can of pop in the clio without it boiling over😂😂

Plugs would be great if you can make them. I think Renault has proper caps for the Kangoo. I used Dei kevlar tape. View attachment 1523970
Tbh I dont know how well a set of blanks will work as the wall thickness towards the back is super thin. The original fixtures must absolutely piss air out of the sides! Barely even connected up and come out with a tiny tug.

No pics but had a fairly productive day today. Tidied up more of the wiring and refitted the lower dash panels.
MOT tuesday so set to getting the cat installed. What an absolute b*****d that was to remove! The sleeve joint had seized up and took me over 2 hours of hammering, heating and oiling to get it off. Didnt watch to damage any of the exhaust system.
@dann2707 had kindly welded up a vband and a 2.5" sleeve joint onto my cat so got this refitted. Definitely going to scrape getting on my driveway.

Whilst I was there I replaced the precat lambda with a new genuine Bosch item and moved the existing precat to the post cat as I just had a universal tied up out the way previously.

Then set to removing the rear arch liners for a general cleanup. Obviously the stud and nut was seized up so these were snapped off. Managed to replace one side with a rivnut but not got round to doing the other side yet.

You need 8 of the cage nuts.
Hi Louis,

Do you know size the cage nuts used on the radiator/condenser? There are a fair few sizes for the M6 variants.
Great progress on this by the way. Top marks for running it as a daily and still tearing it apart at weekends to upgrade/modify

Cat lasted long...

20210307_160832.jpg

Flexi is a bit worse for wear on the mesh outer but the bellows themselves are absolutely fine. I think I'll most likely buy a centre section that has a silencer, or go get one welded in! I enjoyed it being a but quieter and it should be nicer on the motorway too.

The cat already had battle scars after one week, being solid mounted it wouldnt have lasted long and ended up cracking something so it had to come off. Probably keep it until next year, money is better in this than a pension tbh 😂
