big dilema!!

iv got my 16v and yep its fast but i want it to be alot faster

iv got loads of mates with these and vts and want to be quite a bit quicker when were messing around!

the cars currently got a full magnex and decat and custom closed air induction kit, i was going to get a hill power chip and leave it at that

my dilema is should i get headwork,road/rally cams and hill power chip, ?

the engines done 100k, will all this just kill it and il need a rebuild? also fuel economy wil drop loads? and im only 18 insuring such mods will be a pig!

Try and find a williams lump with about 60k on it. Coupled with a cat back exhaust decat induction kit and chip should see around 165bhp 1/4 mid to high 14s. I am in the same boat as you mate got a magnex, decat, viper and pbv with 90k on the clock and i am looking at what to do next.
 


I would have thought that the engine will be fine, even at 100k - Im sure one of the Bens on here will testify to seeing a bottom end with 250k on it and it still being virtually perfect!

A 2.0 lump will be the quickest/easiest way to get more power I imagine - buy it, get it dropped in, get playing! As for insurance, it has been said before on here that the 1.8 and 2.0s are virtually impossible to tell apart, and how often do insurance assessors take heads off to check what cams youve got?

I dont know - its a risk only you can decide if you want to take!

the williams engine sounds like a good idea, but wouldnt the 1.8 with cams and head work be a bit more fun in terms of high revving etc?

the engine i have on 100k has had lotsof work recently

reconditioned gearbox and clutch,cam belt, 2 new engine mounts, new head gaskets and rocker gasket, and a full service, its running very sweet

just dont want to tune it and find it cant cope as parts could all ready be worn out?

how much would a willy engine cost me when 1 came up?
