Did you find the roll centre correction made a big difference? Night and day?

I can’t really comment on the difference, as I’ve not driven the car, before the roll Centre kit was fitted.

What I can say though is I feel this car is damn near the best handling car I’ve ever driven for giving me the INSTANT confidence to throw it at a series of bends and feel assured it’s going to come out the other side..

I’ve been getting into biking over summer 🚴‍♂️ and have obtained all the gear... but as they saying goes.. still missing the idea 😆.

Ive been looking at options of how I can mount a bike on the roof of my Megane so I can take the bike away easily without disassembling it all and then putting it in the back.

Had a couple of great rides along the coast this year in Kent and Gt Yarmouth so I’ve certainly got the bug for it.

So why am I telling you all this in my Clio 182 Thread?? Well along with looking At roof rack options for my Meggy, I also started to have a tentative look for kit for my Clio as well.

Found a dedicated Thule Foot mount kit on eBay for the Clio for 14.99 so had a punt on that, and then it all spiralled from there looking for the common Thule 754 Foot kit to go with it, bars bike mounts etc..

A bloke in Peterborough I saw was advertising the Thule 754 foot kit on eBay so I made a cheeky offer of £35 which he accepted so I toddled round to pick it up. Whilst there he asks me if I’ve got bars, and bike mounts...?

Needless to say, a bit of negotiations and £150 later, I left with everything else I needed to mount 2 bikes to the roof of the Clio.

Today I finally got all the bits together and mounted it all on the roof of the Clio in the poxy rain.. 🌧

For anyone like me who’s not had any experience of Thule roof racks before, let me tell you their kit is excellent and really fits well to the car!!

The feet are specifically moulded to your car (so long as you get the right kit) and when clamped up with the supplied basic torque wrench, it really does get a good hold of your car roof!

I got aero roof bars, which the catalogue says aren’t available for this car, but they fit a treat!

So the next time the sun ☀️ comes out... or at least it’s not raining like FOOOK I’ll get the old girl all packed up and go for a little ride out..!!

Thanks for reading 🚴‍♂️

Only got one key with the Clio when I bought it 🙁 so was always on my mind to get another one or two cut..

I had a quick eBay search the other day and stumbled across these fellas:

I did a quick google search and understood that I needed to programme them into the car using Renault Can-CLIP. Seeing as I have a copy I thought I’d give it a go!!

So after a couple of hours fuc*ing about I realised it’s not as easy as first thought, so I was back to square one..

Quick eBay search later and I found a chap local to me that can programme keys:

https://m.facebook.com/pages/catego...Keys-for-most-makes-of-Cars-1817574658471085/

Contacted him and he was very helpful and could programme and cut my 2 new keys for £80 on my drive, without me having to travel anywhere..

£80 later I’ve now got 3 keys that are fully coded to the car and cut to work with the locks!!

Took the Clio out again for a drive last Sunday to while away a few hours, and even came across a Mk1 Focus RS for a little play with at the end of my drive..

Absolutely love driving this car at the moment, but (as you can hear) the vibration from the PMS Shifter is getting on my T1ts...!

Went outside last night to see what I could do to make it better and remembered I did buy an official PMS weight that you attach to the gear linkage. Few minutes of groping around under the car saw it on, and I fitted it as close to the shift lever as possible.

Result...?

TOTALLY TRANSFORMED THE CAR!!! I’m chuffed to fook on what it’s done, the shifter now only vibrates a little when you’re giving it death in 1st, and I don’t mind that..

For anyone else with a PMS shifter, I’ve deduced that the rattle comes from the shift lever moving up & down in its bearing, at the base of the shift lever. The weight, stops it being able to lift up (it’s being weighted down) so doesn’t vibrate!!

I’m taking it to detailR this Saturday for him to work his magic on the paintwork, and apply a ceramic coating. Will report back.

Had a fabulous drive home with my wife driving the Clio whilst I drove my Raider. We found a quiet bit of road and managed to see how they match up against one another.. there’s hardly any difference!!! 🏁

Now the paintwork has been PROPERLY gone over, I can see that this car WAS originally supplied with the Gordini Stripes which I’m delighted about, so I’m going to fit them back on soon!!

Currently getting a new gearbox rebuilt for the car by the CS-master @NorthloopCup and have decided to go all out and get a Quaife differential fitted, so that’s going to be the next big job! ⚙️ Plenty of little jobs to do in the mean time, including fitting new exhaust hangers at the back, and some reproduction “Cup” badges onto the B-Pillars.

In the mean time, thanks for reading 🥓

Following the paint correction and polishing, I wanted to have a go at this PPF game, to see if it protects the front of the car from everyday driving life.

Found a guy local to me who’s an Xpel authorised installer so dropped the car off to him this Wednesday, and he’s just shared with me some pictures of the car going thru the process.

Looking good! Did you get the rear arches protected as well?
Hmmmm..... no... are they also a spot for stone chippage...?! Balls...! 😣

I’m not really a fan of getting half a panel protected... because you’ll always seen the edge of the film... 🤔 Might have a chat with Matey tomorrow when I collect it!!

They're the worst spot! Just infront of the rear arch

I guess it depends a bit on the type of driving you do. With lots of motorway miles the front end gets most abuse but backroads etc will cause chips on the front of the rear wheel arches by stones thrown up by the front wheels.

Made worse if you're running spacers, but worth protecting.

Altough I agree with you that part protection looks pants.

No worries, glad you could still get the chap to put the xpel on the arches!

Would've been such a shame to find out about this after summer with a load of gravel rash on your once shiny rear arches..

Edit: and wow that's a shiny car!
