Bike throttle bodies on a 172?

  clio 172
As above really. has anyone tried this.
for example a set of gsxr 600 throttle boddies or something simular?
what is the main problem with doing somthing like this apart from the obvious: Space, ecu re map, supporting and fitting the unit?
any comments great.

there is no problem...

typically this sort of work is DIY, "development" costs/labour would be extertionate if u took it to a company

intresting cos the guy's that mentioned it wanted to do it out of intrest(low cost as an experiment) they do the same with race prepping honda's and never done out with the clio's.

I've done it to mine. throttle bodie's were of a honda blackbird (42mm) trumpets were jenvey made the manifold by choping a standard manifold then welded 4 x42mm tube's and then honed it to shape. I have a link engine management. Power gains , my head had already had porting done and we also had a larger single throttle bodie , so from a standard car I can't tell you the gains but my gains were found from 6500rpm up over , an increase at 7250rpm of 36bhp at the fw and 25 at the wheels.
But since then I have put a conrod through the block with hitting the wrong gear. so we have put compertition conrods in and are now hoping to rev up to 8k now .

did you use the fuel rail from the bird or did you have one made up?
No I yous'd the 172 fuel rail and made brackets to fit . the two bodie's needed seperating by 4mm which was packed with washers.
Picture's I tried to put some up but didn't work ,If you can pm me an e-mail address and I'll send them to you tomorrow

Seen this done on 205 Gtis with Mi16 lumps, not sure what gains they where getting, Fireblade ones seemed to be the chosen route.
