Black 172 wheels and bonnet

Just finished the bonnet and doing one side of the wheels so thought i would take some pics with the phone. Bring on the haters :rasp: and yes i know its dirty!

I quite like the look, but have you lacquered the bonnet? Also like the partial colour coding on the front, different.

yer im not too sure about the black bump strip around the number plate yet. Im either gonna leave it like that and do the grill beneath a bit black or will colour code it like the strips either side.

Nah bonnet isnt lacquered, its satin so going to leave it like that. Should have the bonnet pins in by Monday.

Think it'd be better with shiny bonnet and shiny middle bump strip.

yer the colour match isnt right cos the bumper is covered in crap so looks good.

To protect the paint i may put a slight coat of lacquer on

quite like it. If you could do the middle blade bit of the front bumper black as well would look good. Would be inclined to do the mirrors as well.

im going to be doing the mirrors black with "elf" on them. Black bullets with white lettering and the tyres with have toyo and proxies in white and the bonnet is yet to have lacquer put on

i quite like the fact that the line of the bonnet is followed and left black on the bumper strip. wheels look good too.

The vinyl would be glossy and the bonnet is satin, not sure if it would go.
If you could I would get both the roof and bonnet covered in black / cf vinyl

like the wheels, but bonnet is well not nice, iv been the satin black way, and it just looks dull after a while, then changed to Gloss black which is much better

Btw nice cable tie on the Wing mirror

I would get the bumper silver and laquer the bonnet. Wheels look pretty spot on though tbh.

since when are bonnet pins used to control an engine? they are used to stop a bonnet flipping up at high speeds, however mine is purely cosmetic :approve:.


Still not sure wether to put a black roof on or not though..

Looks good, I'd bring the whole blackness from the bonned and cover that bit of the bumper if you know what I mean. So follows in from the bonnet to the bottom of the bumper.

wheels are indeed a DIY job :rasp: £30 and 2 days work. from everyones comment im thinking about doing the bonnet in gloss black, along with the roof and rear boot top and black cup spoiler. Kinda audi stylieeee

yeah do the bonnet gloss black, roof, spoiler and tailgate leave the bumpers silver with some fogs and do the mirrors gloss black no stickers and do the wheel diamons and diamonds silver
would look un real and different

looks well good! av got a gloss black custom sprayed roof on mine clio and am thinking ov getting bonnet done too but am really not sure :/
