Bleeding Brakes - 182 - now spongy

So I fitted new discs, front & back and also new pads DS2500's front and back and also put on braided lines. I did this before on my last 182 and used a Gunsons EZ-bleed kit which worked perfectly.

However this time the pipe inside the Gunsons reservoir appeared to have fallen off after I'd connecting everything up, I realised this when I took everything off after bleeding. It had also filled the brake reservoir completely to the top so I used a syringe and tube to remove the excess.

The brakes work but the pedal has reasonable play and is spongy and feels like constant fade.

I managed to sort out the EZ-bleed kit (as where the pipe inside connected to the lid there was not enough of the out flow pipe pushed through the cap for it to slide onto). However after I bled them again, exactly the same thing had happened and the reservoir was totally full and had actually started to drip down inside the engine bay onto the driver side wishbone :(

I expect I've drawn some air in in the process but don't feel confident enough to try and rectify it myself. I was planning on giving my local specialist a call on Monday when they are open but wouldn't mind some suggestions as to what the problem could be (if I'm wrong) and if it's going to be a big job £££ or not to fix?

Thanks,

Ben

Air in the system that is all. Quick easy fix providing it hasn't got air in the abs pump thingy. As it takes a while to get it out .

As I thought then thanks.

Would the traditional method of having a hobo dance on the pedal and keeping an eye on the reservoir work all the air out the system? If I buy another litre of fluid and just flush it all through should that do the trick?

Which order would you recommend bleeding or will it not make a difference? I don't think I'll be able to get around to doing it until next weekend, silly question but it won't do any damage driving it with air in the lines will it? fairly certain there's none in the ABS pump. What would the symptons of air in the ABS pump be?

Sorry for 101 questions!

with the abs pump the car needs to be turned on when bleeding afaik, as far as bleeding ive always been told start with the furthest away from the master cylinder, so drivers rear, pas rear, driver front, pas front, 2 man method always works best, quick way of doing it is to put the spanner on the nipple get your mate to pump then hold firm, put a rag over nipple and spanner to catch the fluid, release, escape and tighten.

Had the local Renault specialist sort this for me this morning. They bite now but there's about an inch or two of play in the pedal before I get any resistance. Has always been much nearer to the top. Is there a fix for this?

Having just checked with the engine off if I pump the brake the pedal firms up nicely but actually still has about an inch of play in it which leads me to believe there is still air in the lines. With the engine on, the brakes bit but are pretty much almost at the end of the travel for the brake pedal.

As I thought, needed bleeding again. My local garage obviously weren't doing it properly as a **** tonne of air came out the back right. All sorted thanks to Dan at 519, top bloke.
