As above really i know head gaskets go and start using water or cream stuff in the oil, hard to start and that. But what if it went between pistons?
Fred or anyone else for that matter know the signs?

Thanks

So you'd know about it. i.e run like crap, i'm only askin as when i got the car it dumped all its coolant on the first day and temp went off scale all warning lights came on. Bottom hose came off. Just wanted to know long term damage something the stealers might keep from me.
Thanks for reply.

ake it to specialist breakers in accrington 01254 386661 they'll tell you if anything's wrong

if you're lucky it'll be fine

unlucky, new headgasket and a skim

it happens sometimes - i've done a gasket change on an f7p that had blown between center pots, and a similar case on a volvo turbo engine. you diagnose by fitting your compression tester, taking a reading then removing the adjascent plug and re-test the compression. if it drops then its blowing. in severe cases you can hear the compression isn't right when you crank it :)

+1 compression test is the only way to be certain, the blow will also be visable on the gasket when taken apart
