BMC CDA Vs ITG Max

-J-

Car  RS2'ed 172 Cup
The BMC Carbon Dynamic Airbox kit looks very similar to the ITG Max but is about 1/2 the price.

From what i have been told BMC are a respected company involved in alot of Motorsport so have plenty of development knowledge not just some 2p Ebay style tuning company.

Why does the ITG Max command such a high premium? Are they worth the extra £150 odd? Is the BMC any good?

I few members have lost power with the BMC, I haven't heard of anyone loosing power with an ITG

I also have the CDA, not a lot of difference on it's own (apart from quite a nice sound) but with the decat and new exhaust im just about to fit, I'm hoping for a decent improvement. IMO the maxogen doesnt represent good value for money at all.

So Basically CDA for Noise and not much else and ITG Max for a few extra Ponys?

from what i have read about so far the max is only going to give you 1-2hp more than the BMC, and this is prob down the the design of the CAF, i think the max has a larger diameter CAF inlet, so i therory the extra 1=2hp is not going to be noticable as removing the spare wheel, so for the sake of £150 your best of just doing that....BMC & - the spare

Mine's a Cup Has no spare anyway ;)

Not much more to say! I can recall when the BMC CDA kits were new that a couple of people lost power, most made no difference, some improved power. With the ITG the majority seem to see an improvement (although very small on most) or no chance. Can't recall anyone loosing power with an ITG tho.

Real carbon fibre airbox

ITG sould do a cheaper version with a plastic aribox, make a kiling
