Bonnet rust...

  Clio Trophy
Found a smidge of rust on the bonnet today when washing the T :(
Cut back the rubbery coating and then covered it in a few layers of Vactan. Hopefully that should stop it, doesnt look as pretty now though!
Also scraped out the rear arches and Vactan'd those as well for good measure.
How has anyone else treated theirs??

I believe all clios suffer from rust on the bonnet lip.
I have the same issue but nothing like above.

As for the rear arches i have cleaned all mine and under sealed them.

I noticed mine under the bonnet lip about 6 years ago, treat it after sanding it back and then forgot to keep on top of it. It's now all the way through, could do with another bonnet :(

After hitting a pigeon a month or two back one of the main reasons for choosing to go for a new bonnet over repairing was to get rid of the corrosion on the underside. Mum very happy now it's brand new.

Iv just done the stone guard finish on my 106 GTi, may do the same with the rear arches on the T too. But it will have to wait until next year.
Thing is it is all well and good laying protection on top but if even a tiny bit of water gets in there you simply cant see it :(
Bloody old cars!
