brakes are trying to kill me

hi all intermittently when braking my pedal would go quite hard the brakes are crappy as it is but when this happens I have to literally stomp on the pedal to stop any ideas no leaks of fluid :s

When did you last top up? Mine did it and i was low but no leaks

checked today full have to get a mechanic to look im what you'd call a Saturday mechanic a the most haha
