Brakes feel different after braided lines, not in a good way :(

Had some lines fitted and have noticed since the pedla isn't feeling as firm as it used to.

There now seems to be some dead travel in the pedal befor ethings start happening, all feels a little woolly :/

Before the pedal was pretty firm, a lightish press and you could feel the brakes biting. Now I can left foot brake with the pedal down a fair way and not a lot happens.

I'm guessing it just needs a good bleed to sort things out, maybe?

A garage, will have to give them a bell tomorrow asap and get it in to be (re)bled as I've got to drive up to London (near-ish enfield actually :p) on Thursday.

Was in need of an MOT a while ago when I we were up there and stopped in at a place in Enfield called Ridgeway or something.

make sure the rear lines are in properly... they can be a bugger, and are most likely leaking when braking under pressure

Evoo, I agree that that mod does feel slightly different. I've got the DS2500 pads to boot and again it changes the way that my brakes feel. It has taken some getting used to but I like it now.

I was always under the impression it firmed the pedal up, mine jsut feels a little weak now :/ It doesn't inspire confidence. If you're in Exeter tomorrow you can have a bash and see if you like :) My work is just up by Middlemoor.

Glad it's fixed. I'd like to see how the matched inlet feels, if mine ever arrives I'm planning the same thing. I'm on Sowton, Exeter - so just down the road.

I'm guessing at the EA then? :p

Do you know Steve Perriam and Lee with the Cobra/Scooby?

Yes, I know Lee, but not sure who Steve is.

I'm based at the EA's Exeter office but spend lots of time away mainly in Bristol at HQ.

I was hoping to have a manifold, but I am beginning to suspect I might have been taken for a ride after parting with my money. Worse still it is somebody from this site! Hopefully I will be proven wrong.

Ooh Steve might not work there anymore, he's got a blue Impreza STi, the blob eye model (i.e. 04ish plate). Think he was gunning for a move to australia though so he might have already gone, know Lee through another motoring forum and have been to a couple of meets with him :)

I'm up at SWW at rydon lane, not the sowton depot.

I'd recommend the manifold, has made a difference that everyone who has driven it since has noticed. What kind of difference did the ds2500s make, do they squeal?

DS2500 pads do squeal when the weather's been dry for a time. Biggest difference is that the ABS kicks in far more often - shows the pads are working I reckon!

I trust my brakes now more than before. Although I'm not sure if there is something even better out there, suspecting there probably is.
