Brakes problem

At the moment when I get on the brakes, the pedal compresses as normal, but the brakes are locking up and there's a sort of scraping noise for a second. The pads and discs are both ok, they were new not too long ago. Doesn't matter if it's wet or dry, the same thing happens.

Is it at slow speeds? Possibly a cracked abs ring, does it feel like abs kicking in?

Low speeds yes, wouldnt happen on the motorway or anything. Is this a big job?

Pretty easy job, could be either front or rear, it's quite obvious if it's cracked, there a fiver on eBay, count the teeth, prob 44
