[emoji5] feel stupid now....
Needs 50mm butterfly's to get the maximum out of itb's/this spec ideally, and it's only 45's available off the shelf. It's all about the transition/taper from the butterfly to the valve face, with the optimum being around 7 degrees. You can't get that with 45's unfortunately.Be good to compare with / without ITBs on this type of engine.
Lol afraid not mate. Tomorrow apparently. Got the oil cooler lines and fittings though yesterday.@NorthloopCup Have your overnight parts come from Tokyo yet? :tonguewink:
Agreed. The big hp duratecs are running 52 or 54mm butterflies just to get the transition right, which is where the 197 inlet ports are similar in terms of size.Jenvey 48s with taper are more than enough, there good enough for near 300bhp.

The Ashford f4r on YouTube is also running 50mm butterflies, possibly bigger.
Have you seen the difference between the 1*2 and 197 ports though? In fact what head are pms running? Is it a 1*2 one? I've just had a watch of that video you mentioned about in your pm as well. Interesting results.Pure Motorsport use parallel 48s
Exhaust ports are the same as the 182 heads mate. Small!Interesting. I know PMS alter the port position and chamber so maybe to replicate this head.
What about the exhaust ports?
You need a 5pk 847 belt mate. That's what mine is.Looks so mint.
Would you be able to tell me the belt length please  my setup is the same as this and I'm yet to sort it out.

Yeah I'd assume it does as well mate tbh. Thanks man. I need 3pk for the PMS pulleys though, but assuming the 847 part stays the same.
3pk? Thats bloody thin lol

Love the build mate, my hat goes off to you. So jealous!
Cheers! Nah mate. Cba tbh! This is just all a bit of fun for me really, so whatever power it makes I'll be happy with. If it was all out performance I would've run it on itbs from the off, but I prefer to do things a bit different.Only just noticed this mate it looks brilliant.
Are you planning on itbs in the future?

Thanks mate!Epic build mate!
Lots of inspiration here...
I got home from work at 6:45 and removed it whilst the wife was still in bed! :wink:Flol @ car parts in the dishwasher. Brave man! 😂
Shiny new gearset looking nice mate
It's come out really well tbf - not brand new looking, but for a 12yr old part it's come up really well. Here's what I did:How did the header tank come up ?
oh I'm a masterchef alright! I can make a meal out of anything! FlolMasterchef eat ya heart out
yeah tbf it's come out really well and it was also on a economy wash at 50 degrees! That's obviously the secret! Lol!Looking great Mark.
Dishwashers are awesome at cleaner car parts.
I had an inlet manifold in there on an economy wash lol. Came out new.
This build is stonkingly fantastic.
Main reason for not going straight cut is cost. They're so expensive for these and I don't have a contact to get a cash deal!! I had the chance of James's gripper box but it wouldn't have been the best in terms of gearing. Some very nice parts going on this, just wondering why you did not go for straight cut gears (providing you can get them)
Assuming you can get one of the gear sets off gripper your talking about 3.5k I think, possibly more. There's an Italian company that do them as well for reasonable money too. Your still talking 2.5k though. http://www.bacciromano.com/?p=prodotti&l=eng&cat1=24&cat2=51&mar=8How much are they out of curiosity? I have heard my mate talk about £5k+ boxes for his Escort MK2 (he hasn't brought one yet though lol)
Yeah I agree mate. I can rebuild the jc5 with new parts around 5 times at the price of the bacci romano gear kit.Too much money for a "fun" car
