Excellent spec.. Stupid question.. Are the Maxi piston HC?
Not a stupid question at all mate, but yes they are high compression. Here's what they look like:

Lol! Proper

Pitlane motorsport airbox yeah Mark if it's a copy. Loads of nice bits on there.
No mate not a pitlane one. Too expensive to buy knowing I'd have to cut it up! Lol!
Thanks mate!
Looks very nice Mark, what revs will it be doing?
Cheers mate. It'll be revving to 8k, maybe 8100. Max power isn't acheived until 7800 rpm! Lol! That shows how nasty the cams are.

Looks brilliant Mark, might be racking your brains in near future over this engine ;) Should pass the 200bhp mark quite easily with that spec if the r3 evo is anything to go by :)

Thanks Keith. Yeah R3 maxi should make 230hp. Maxi Evo made 250hp, but they're on steel bottom end and solid lifter top end. They also Rev to 8500rpm!

4 piston rings per cylinder?
Always thought competion engines had less rings, not more?
Or is there a special reason for it?
You have the top compression ring, 2nd compression ring and 2 oil control rings mate. That's the standard piston ring setup. It's only race engines that they start doing away with some of the rings, but they need rebuilds a lot more often.

That looks seriously seriously epic. Proper epic. Credit to you mate. Been waiting a while to see this built lol!!

Absolute car p**n! Seriously jealous of it and of your skills

Ah ok so it is the oil ring that is doubled up
Never seen that before.
Is it standard on all F4R engines?

That's cool as f**k Mark, proper bit of kit. Can't wait to see how this goes, should be pretty brutal with that spec. :smilingimp:

Cheers Paul! Yeah there's a lot of people looking forward to the figures, me included, so let's hope it doesn't let me down! Lol!
It should certainly make the little Kermit cup a bit more entertaining!
