  renault 5 gt turbo ph2
Anyone got any that will fit the standard 280mm discs that could send me dimensions off so i can get some made up?? been sent pics of what they look like just seems no one wants to give dimensions?

Lol.

As i have said in previous threads. Buy them they are not that expensive.

Plus they would have been tested so marked as safe.

Not saying yours wouldn't be but you know what i mean. Why take the risk for a couple of quid??

Doing 70mph press the brakes the bracket snaps due to poor quality metal, where do you end up?

I have a full setup up for sale for £500 delivered with everything inc braided lines and two sets of pads but everyone seems to think its expensive. I challenge anyone to put a kit together with the quality parts I have for less than that unless you get parts for free.

Thats less than the wilwood and other tat that go for sale on here FFS.

Im willing to pay for brackets if anyones got any, been told by member guy in france who sells them hasnt got anymore and he wants minimum of 5 sets at £220 i havnt got a spare £1000+ to by that many and sell on to people.. i can use good quality metal as im a welder/fabricator by trade just having got machining equipment at work as not what we really do..

so if anyones got any? im happy to buy.. ( cash waiting )

if not dimensions would be handy so i can make a set up

and as said to MG would of had that complete set if i didnt already have the calipers

There is a Group Buy about the brackets and rest of the kit for these in the relevant section mate

I'd link you but you have to be a member to view it

Well worth doing only £12 a year and will pay for itself in no time

@MartinR what's your address so I can post that bag of faeces I have just put together for you.

@Archtronics no they're the 280mm setup, the more expensive and more difficult of the two brackets that are made.

That rant wasn't directed at you mate.

Did you source the bits yourself or did you buy it as a package? That's CHEAP.

I put the kit together myself well over a year ago with the intention of fitting to my race car which I then thought better of it and put them on my track car for a season. They were brilliant tbh. I then removed them, stripped them, cleaned and painted bits and bobs so they look nice for sale.

That's very good, Would you mind me PM'ing you nearer the time that I'll be getting everything for a list of parts etc..?

Never s**t on anything police related or anything you don't want to be found for. A t**t I went to school with done it on a teachers desk when they raided a classroom one night, 5-6 years down the line he got nabbed for something and they swabbed and finger printed him. It was still on the data base and he got done for breaking and entering, shitting on a desk etc etc. I was In tears when the local copper told me.

So dog s**t to be used everytime haha.

Anyone know if you need spacers on the 280mm set up? Currently running standard 182 alloys.

I may be able to get 300mm brackets.. so i could just machine them down?

Well.... NO.

Projection of the adapters fixing screw holes and the caliper fixing bolts intercept. The distance between the screw axis and the Brembo seating surface is 21mm on the 300 adapter which leaves enough meat to thread a hole and use a bolt (21 - 6 (half a M12 screw) = 15mm of thread available for the bolt, less about 1 or 2mm unthreaded of the bottom of the hole depending on the tap ). For 280 setup, the distance needs to be 10mm less (MartinR, 20mm on the diameter = 10 mm on the radius) which is generally done by 5mm off the adapter and 5mm off the caliper which would only leave about 8mm for the usable thread on the adapter which is way too short for a secure fitting that's why the 280 setup use studs rather than bolts for fixing the caliper.

One could think that if the caliper was machined 10mm instead of 5, it would fit the 300mm adapter. Yes it could but there a risk it may decrease wall thickness of the oil passages in the caliper too much (no one has a blueprint of the Brembo internals to make sure it's OK). Reducing 300 adapter 10mm is out of question obviously.

Archtronics, you will need min 5mm spacers (7mm better) when using Brembo with the 182 alloys to clear the spokes;

I got the 300mm brackets and took them to machine place by me hes made me new ones up with the hole 5mm in and i got the caliper done 5mm too.. Theres about 9-10 turns on the bolt that holds it..

tried them today and im catching my wheels by about 1-2mm so i need to get them machined back abit more, and maybe go with the idea as you said of studs from the other side as il loose abit of thread on the bolt,

im running williams wheels has anyone got brembos and use these the wheels ? if so did you use spacers?

But i now have dimensions for both brackets drawed out just incase :)
