Broken 172 cup front bumper undertray

Last night I went for a blast on the motorway for a couple of junctions and when I came off at a junction I could here a scraping noise coming from the front of the car. Pulled over and had a look and the lefthand corner of the undertray was hanging down, and there was a piece of it missing completely.

Now I had a small accident that broke the splitter and this section of the undertray about two weeks ago, which I had repaired by Renault last Friday. So I know what caused the damage the first time (a slight altercation with a grass verge!), but this time I've hit absolutely f**k all. I'm sure it was'nt damaged (or at least dragging) before I went on the motorway. I did take it up to near v-max on the motorway but that can't have caused it to brake surely?! My feeling is Renault never re-fitted this part correctly in the first place and its just fallen off.

Has anybody experienced or heard of this kind of problem before?

Any feedback much appreciated

Had it back down Renault now and they fixed it with a couple of self-tapping screws, fairly happy with that as it did'nt cost me anymore cash!

The service salesman bloke had a look and said that they had'nt replaced that part when it was in before, and that that part is not really properly attached to anything anyway! It just "kind of sits in there". Apparently it happened on his 182 before, which when we had a look was completely missing that part on the left-hand side (probably was'nt the best comparison really!). When the mechanics worked on it before they probably just pushed that piece back in, hoping it would stay put.

I'm still interested if anybody else has encountered a similar problem
