can you make your 172/182 seats low

  MKIII 138

.. by altering the subframe safely of course ??

also seen as the reacors only drop a pesky 1cm lowered than the standard seats whats the drop if you were to buy trendlines after market from recaro and install ? is 1cm the lowest these and other recliners will go ????

imo the 172/182 need to be another 40mm max lower than standard to give the inpression of speed omre (too easy to break the limit without any speed buzz attached either) when you sit lower its freaky to go fast so you dont bother as much.. but it helps you realise how fast your going aswell.

?
explain, plz

Because everyone whos sat in it has commented on how much better the seating position is than standard and how it should have been like that from the factory. But bear in mind i do have the custom superlow subframes not the regular ones.

Ok

i asked about recliners ?! (dummmfffp + spacker chin)

what options are they for recliners to go lower. i.e if the recaros go 1cm i assume thats because the seats themselves are not as thick. can you buy after market recliners and go 40cm lower with current subframes. i,e can they be modded or do you have to buy aftermarket subframes ?

the reason i want recliners is so i can get people in the back. every few weeks i end up having to cram my 6ft mates in the back and head into town for beers so i need to be able to get people into the back (otherwise id just rip out the back seats).

is it possible to have buckets move so far forward that people can squeeze in the back ??

please answer this question as i asked it not like a bunch of complete duuhhhhs (spacker chin + slaping bent wrist)

Chill i wasnt trying to deliberately be a w**ker or not answer the question, however if you want low, buckets with custom subframes is the only way youll acheive it in a mk2.
The std seats do not have a subframe as such as it is integral in the seatbase frame and the runners fit on this and bolt to the floor. So that rules out f**king about with the standard seats. You will really only get about as low as the recaros in the trophy if you want to keep recliners due to the bases.
Mine do not have the option to slide the bucket backwards and forwards as this adds to the height, also im running a custom subframe again to drop the seat as low as poss. add this to the fact that buckets do not have a tilting mech etc and are simple and take up the least space possible and this is how you get the seat as low as poss. It will always be a trade off for perfect position vs practicality and youll have to decide which is more important, me personally....well i never had a taxi sign on my car i bought it for me to drive so make the f**kers walk ;)

well i really dont understand what are you guys talking about (english is not my native language) but i just lowered my seats 30mm for less than 5gbp.

its on mk1, but you can do it on all the soft seats.

i just took 4 duble screws with large plastic heads and tighten the seat sponge itself (on the place where my bu*t is)

well since my english aint that good, the picture will tell you a thousad words:

obviously, thats not my clio.
i placed the plastic screws roughly around where the red circles are - the top plastic head, i mean the one im sitting on, cannot be tightened, but the other side (below the seat) can be. the diameter is around 1 inch.

and its great! it holds better in curves, nicer hardness... i might do the back part too :)

Lets get smaller arses:p

Is there no after-market mod that will allow buckets to slide forward? I know that the whole point is to have a lower fixed seat but there must be a compromise available.

You can have the buckets on sliding runners but that adds to the height. and im not sure it would slide far enough forwards to get into the back unless you were a midget contorsionist anyway.
