Cannon 300D on Vista

Daddy has just bought a new laptop, and is trying to get his SLR to work but i can not find the user drivers online

anyone else have this problem and know a fix?????

That's weird, usually you're able to plug in and go. Tried using canon software?

yeah i when i search for the driver it comes up on every other windows but not vista

You can do the following:

First follow the instructions below:

Open Notepad and copy this text:

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Canon\DPP]
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Canon\ZoomBrowser EX]
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Canon\EOS Capture]
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Canon\EOSViewerUtility]
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Canon\PhotoStitch]

Save file and rename it to canon.reg
Double click on the file and answer Yes on prompt.
After that, download update software from Canon site and install it as it was the full version.

Install et voila!

My 300D just .. worked... plugged it in and it worked right off the bat.

Same with my 20D
