Change 172 exhaust on your own?!

Is the 172 exhaust (back box) easy to DIY change? havent got the car yet so dont know if its a cut off or just undo bolt job?

seen alot of cat back systems, guess its even easier to fit than just the back box as pipe goes straight to front pipe?

gotta cut it to take it off, be sure to measure it properly or you gotta get the MIG out

Unless you get a cat back system? then you just undo the bolts to the cat...then run the new exhaust? correcto?

I've fitted/Unfitted quite a few in the last year.

If I can do it any spanner monkey can!

Not had to cut one yet though.

You have to cut it unless you drop the sub-frame don't you?

Car may have had the centre section removed for the 4k buzz, if so it will have a clamp where you can split the rear half over the rear axle beam. Otherwise you need to either cut it in half yourself or undo the shocks at the top and jack it up at the back until the beam drops enough to slide it out between the floorpan and axle.

Never straight forward is it!

im more worried about being able to replace aftermarket with the standard again should I need to sell the car etc. Would be nice if it just bolted back place.

Guess once its removed, never easily be able to pop it back on.
