hi all,
right to cut a long story short, i thought that the posisition of my front wheels looked odd due to a sport bumper on standard wings...
BUT having got the messuring tape out, messuring from center of hub to start of the arch nearest to lower part of the door
the drivers side sits back allot more than the passengers. ( done with tracking aline steering holder tool to keep wheels dead center )

its always been a pig to set up properly, last time i had two new front tyres and they had it for an hour trying to alline it, i watched as the lazer guides went all over the place.

the car doesnt tug or pull over the road, but does have a bad steering judder over 60 to about 90

does anyone have the messurements taken from a ' non damaged ' clio?
and im guessing i can try re-alline the fronts by means of adjusting the location of lower ball joints?

help appreciated thanks

raz

I thought my old golf had been in a major accident at some point, turned out to be a bent wishbone.

nope, standard dci wishbones. iv never changed them and the bushing dont look to bad either.

i do remember doing my AR bar links and the drivers side AR was bent a funny angle making the bolt a pig to put through the wishbone connection.

this is what im thinking. iv seen it done by someone before, ordered two left hand side wishbones for a skoda, changed the ball joint to upside down on one to get away with it.

now if they are shaped for a certain side theres possibly my problem as its giving me neg caster on one side and possitive on the other?

think i'll by two new wishbones and see where it gets me. if i change them and it makes no difference, its either the subframe or the mounting points on the unibody
