Always seems to be plenty of OTT kits on the covers on any of the favoured offending "car culture" magazines. lol, I have eyes in my head and I cant imagine anyone on here would class what you have done so far as understated so yes OTT.

Badly kitted again is based on what evidence has been presented in the thread. I've seen 100s of cars that have had similar work done and even the few that have been executed well (no sunken or cracked filler, panelgaps all right, decent workmanship and decent paintjob etc) still looked bloody awful. I guess taste is a subjective thing however this doesnt float my boat, it's usually the preserve of young teenagers stuck home wanking over copies of max power.

fact is im pay over 2.5k for paint job. so it will be good. baddly kitted. i dont see how.car isnt finished to go get painted

i recon they should make a dedicated section to the forum for these sorts of cars... cause i've noticed people who have kitted cars, sign up hang round for a week then we never hear from them again after they have been slatted to deppression. lets face it. most of us went threw a stage of wanting bodykits and slammed cars....
some people never grow out of that and it really is a passion. wheather most of you like it or not, kitted cars do exist and are going to for a long time.

Well as i don't have a crystal ball I cant judge the end product can I I'm making a statement going on what has been done so far. Yes it has no paint yes it hasnt been finished but I can already see (as can anyone) what it will generally look like. I don't like lairy kitted cars therefore I know I wont like this. IF when finished it's been done to a good standard fair enough, but I'm not commenting on the quality of work I saying I dont like kitted cars. Renault have already done that it's called a V6! If someone was building a FR clio then that would impress me more. That would be due to the engineering involoved, although it would no doubt drive like a hippo on rollerskates.

I've seen some £700 paintjobs put £3000 jobs to shame. On the whole you get what you pay for but in 10 years in the motortrade i've learned that a decent paintjob is not always an expensive one. Don't get your fingers burnt. I'd be inclined to check not just the paintshops work but confrim who did the spraying, sometimes even the same bodyshop will put out very inconsistant work.

yes im aware of bodyshops and different paints pushin g out dif quality of work... thats why you find the small group of painters that are perfectionists. that way the cost is high but job is done well....

Its down to individual taste I suppose. Before I was old enough to drive I'd read mags like Max power/Fast car and drool over the cars on the front cover. I used to think If only I could afford to spend all that money on the latest audio gear and body kits and have the coolest car on Maccy's car park.

By the time I reached 17 and could actually drive I thought f**k spending all that cash on a gash looking bodykit/paint job and tons of speakers and amps. I'll buy a half decent car and a house instead and get a proper telly and stereo and shag my missus in a proper bed.

If it makes you happy fair play. I'm just saying personally I grew out of the phase early on. I spent a few quid modding my old XR2i when I was younger because thats what I wanted to do. Fitted a magnex, lowered it, 57i kit etc but TBH after a year or so I wish I'd have just brought a better car that would have held its money rather than flushing a couple of grand down the pan or better still spent the money on more booze and drugs.

i like it mate thing is on this forum if you ask for any advice on wheels you get told turinis lol its like theyre obessed with them and if you dont have them then you get slated which i think is unfair as each to their own. i can understand peoples opinions as the majority of this forum are clearly older and not in there early teens therefor there tastes are bound to be different but i have noticed this forum does get nasty towards modified cars that are seen as ott and your comment about theyre up there own arse tbh wih you mate they are lol or atleast come across that way

Does having a loud system make it sound better? - Not going to lie to you i don't know much about sounds, i'd rather listen to the engine (Performance) than 150db of DJ sammy.

you have 2 types of systems. spl n sq. choose which you want. spl you lose quality, sq lose quantiy.

just coz it could go high up to say 150 doesnt mean i will play that. too much for sum1 ears to hear constant.

car is deadened fully. which you gain n it doesnt need to be as loud

building a show car. ill use till i decide what i want as a daily. yet i not wasting cash down the pisser. least i got sumthing to show from it than going on benders at weekends. no different with you buying performance goodies
