Chris' Clio 182 RB Project

Picked myself up a Racing Blue 182 yesterday. The old owner things the current exhaust system is standard but im 100% sure its not.......or its blowing badly lol. Currently has white standard alloys which are quite badly kerbed, carbon wrapped diamonds and de-wipered.

Current plans are to change the alloys for either Turinis, OZ Superturismos, OZ Ultraleggeras or something similar. Wouldnt mind some Comp MO5s on there but never seen a clio with these on before. Would like to smarten up the interior as its looking a little tired, would love some Trendlines but cant see myself affording them so might go for another type of bucket seat as its only a weekend toy.

Will be at my mates garage at the end of this week for the exhaust to be inspected and the gear linkage looked at as ive lost first gear (first day of ownership ffs).

Anyway heres a couple of pics from when I cleaned it today, comments and suggestions always welcome

Dropped my car off at my mates garage on Friday for him to have a good look over it and to check if Ive bought a good one. I told him to check out the gear linkage as that was playing up and also told him to see what make the exhaust system was and why it was rattling. Got a call on Sunday to say that the gear linkage was just knackered and should be replaced. Then we moved on to the exhaust............ he said its a f**king state, been patched up left right and centre and really needs to be replaced (ive sourced a standard replacement all ready).

But in other (good) news this turned up last week so once I get the car back i will get it fitted. also on the look out for some replacement alloys so if you have any feel free to drop me a PM or reply on here, only looking to pay around £200.

After 4 weeks of ownership I finally have the Clio to use!
Got it back off my mechanic with the gear linkage issue sorted (although he recommends getting a refurb kit or something as it is a little worn under there). Also had the old exhaust scrapped and replaced with a standard 182 exhaust.
Fitted Fattys induction kit on the weekend too but not been out in it since as had to send the key off to be repaired.

Got a set of black 182 alloys to go on this weekend so cant wait to get them on and get rid of the nasty kerbed white ones.

Does anyone know where you can get a spare key cut? Does it have to be done at Renault?

Yeah I had a look around for some Superturismos but couldnt find any but im happy with my black 182s that will be fitted this weekend. Going to get the bullets dipped too and then somehow tint the side reperaters.

Wasnt a fan of the white from the start but that will change tomorrow. Ordered my carbon dipped bullets to with RB coloured writing

The spare key is going to be supplied by SC Autoelectrics. The provide the key and code it for £120

Few things done today. Firstly got the new alloys on the car

Massive improvement over the white ones, really happy with them

Next up was sorting out some damage by the previous owner so I masked up the surrounding area and got spraying with my can of RB.

Couple of coats later it looked like this. Im quite pleased tbh for a £15 fix

Just waiting on the black bullets to arrive and then I will probably move on to sorting the interior out with new mats and some new seats and seat belts.

Bullets have arrived along with a gear knob insert, will get them fitted this weekend and then sell on my old bullets to get some money back

Yeah its a used one pal off a member on here, only paid £25 collection (has some surface rust but it will do for now)
