Clio 1.6 16v Turbo - From Brazil

Hi guys, i'm from Brazil. First, sorry by my dab english. I had many turbo cars, all made, not original thing. Its a K4M engine with pistons and rods forgeds and use 0,7bar of pressure, but soon more pressure will come, with aluminium admission collector. After that, the car will pass in dyno, all filmed, and i share the results with you.

Note: Here wee dont have the gorgeous RS, the more powerfull on sale its the 1.6 16v, even so, this clio with turbo can run in front of an original RS.

i've heard of a 1.6 turbo from brazil about 2-3 years ago, possibly the same guy?

My was made in last December. I dont have to many photos, but when the stage 2 will be completed i post new videos with results. I'm expect 240~250hp in engine. will see.

Not cheap I would imagine but nicely done by the looks of things, any chance of some pictures of the engine bay?

Excellent car mate. Realy interesting. Would you consider a gearbox swap? The ratio's seem a little short i.e. you can't reach 100kph in 2nd and your getting towards the limiter at 210kph in top gear.

Nice conversion, but I´d like to have a better view of the exhaust manifold. Is it casted, oder welded? Or is it the OEM flange with a plenum welded on the flange?

We now working on the injection system to use more pressure. I will need that because in August 30 happens a another Track Day, and below some cars that will participate:

VW Golfs/Polo GTI (all with upgrades)
BMW M3
Audis S3
Civics
Subarus etc

Soon the results.

What about simply use the injektors of the F4P / F4R engines? They have a bigger static flow and should fit also from the injection angle, maybe only the low end fuel mass might be little too big.

The original injectors of F4R its not enouth, because i use alcohol (100% answer your question jack). I trust my mechanic, now we use 6 injector and its enough. The "problem" is the adjustment of injection system, that was not made for turbo. But certainly we will fix that.

Fastchip in the Netherlands is a good adress for turbo conversions that keep on using the original Sirius32 / 34 ECUs.

They did the ECU basic programming (the fine tuning can be done by the RS-tuner) for the ClioA Turbo of a friend. It has the block of the "low power" F4R engine (140hp) that has a compression ratio of 9,8:1, but the camshafts/intake manifold of the Clio 172. Water cooled intercooler and a GT28 turbo charger.

I would have loved to do this to my old K4M but i think it was abit of a sleeper with the turbo... everyone underestimated it, thinking it was a 1.2..... nope haha. Will be watching this thread think its a brilliant idea!! well done mukka

Some new pictures. The Stage 2 its done :evil:. 1.3bar of turbo pressure, the car is real good. Its go to the Dyno real soon. The result and new videos i will post here.
