Clio 172 Ph2 - Weight Reduction Thread

Hi All,

I'm back in the game with a 172, its completely standard. Is their a thread available with the best weight reduction mods?

what can i throw out of the car? what are the best and lightest coilovers? what do standard wheels weigh? best lightweight wheels? brakes .. tyres etc.?

plus anything else u wanna throw in, dont wanna spend on the engine really, just maintain it and get performance improvement from the other areas.

Cheers

Eddy

Take everything out.

Carpet
Door cards
All the seats and fit buckets
Sound deadening (tar, under the carpet, behind the dash)
Roof lining (and more tar)
All the interior plastics

If you're going to do it, do it properly

defo dave, with regards to buckets, as it's a road car, which lightweight buckets are best with a bit of comfort in mind

Thanks

I had a pair of Cobra Monacos, had to get out of the car after an hours driving because everything was numb.

I'd have a look at Bimarco Futuras, seem to get good reviews.

whats a realistic weight i'd be able to get it too, want to be under 1000kg at least and let me check the seats out

15" 2118s not that light, but look good (IMO) and are strong.
