The figures are 7.1 (renault offical figs)
Typical topgear using old figures.
The cup should edge the 182. (6.9 vs 7.1)
I like to think of the 182 being in between the two, best of both worlds.
Yeah itll edge it Im sure, but Mr 172/182 will be sat in Airconditioned comfort, while casually operating the electric window to display the middle finger![]()
Probably wouldnt see the middle finger as hed be infront of you!Quote: Originally posted by Dutch 172 on 12 January 2004

Tom182 - have you gone for the Cup suspension set up?
Whats this with 6.9 sec 0 - 60 for the Cup. You must have dug up a really sh*t copy of Top Gear for that time!!
6.5 Secs - As tested by many a car mag and AP22s across the country.
Topgear havent tested the 182 come to think of it nobody has.
The 6.9 figure for the cup is renaults own. (i know its quicker)
Same as the 7.1 for the 182 (which will also be quicker)
Yes i went for the "cup" suspension which isnt actually anything to do with the previous cup setup.

Wouldnt really talk about any Clio as comfort! Get an S-Class if you want comfort grandad. Old school hot hatches are meant to be RAW! Why you think the Golf GTi is such a boring whale on wheels now!Quote: Originally posted by Dutch 172 on 12 January 2004

When you drive 35,000 buisness miles a year in it, you soon miss little things like Air co, Sat Nav and electric windows. I test drove the V5 Golf, and yes it is a whale, thats why I chose the 172, But its rawer than most hot hatches even in 172 format.

Funny how some 172 owners are still unaware that CUPS have electric windows and can have climate control.
