Clio 182 Air Box

  2004 182
I've just bought a 182 and it has had a cone air filter fitted. I would like to return it to a standard box and filter. However, I'm struggling to work out what I am missing. There is the dirty air duct still fitted, tie wrapped to the cone filter which is fitted to the clean air duct to the throttle. Looking at airbox pics on eBay (Renault want £120!!), there looks to be a third hose coming out of the bottom of the airbox. What's this?

Anyone got a pic of a standard air box in situ they can share? Google image search hasn't been kind to me tonight.

OK. So a bit more googling suggest the side intake is for cold air. Three bottom intake goes to the acoustic valve. Looks like I just need to plumb them both to a cold air source.

The one on the top connects to the throttle body, there are 2 ducts for fresh air to be filtered. One fixes by the battery at the front of the car and the other is meant to connect to the acoustic valve down behind the passenger front wheel.

Hope this helps

The one with the yellow ring round goes to your throttle body , the 2 with the red rings round are your cold air feeds . One goes down into the wheel arch to the acoustic valve , the other is a shorter one and just goes behind the headlight are thereabouts . So you'll need these as well if the air boxes you've been looking at don't already come with them attached .

Ph1 airbox is a big round thing from a V6 Espace, Ph2 is the rectangular-ish box.

Ph1 box reliably seems to get slightly better dyno results.
