nice install, but would say that a headunit that doesnt stand out so much would look better imo
True... at least the face place come off I suppose... and the aluminium does compliment the rest of the trim?? I got it becase of the nice display, so I can see what album/song Im listening to (one CD can hold 8 good quality mp3 abums)

Getting a stalk adaptor... any point in getting a display adaptor with it?

Heres mine
The Alpine looks spot on m8!

Can you wire these up using ISO converter cables (i.e. no seperate battery feed)?

Have you bothered with stalk adapter? If so is this also an easy fit?

Craig

That unit supports stalk and display (when the adapter is ready i will get one) then you can black out the hu display and run the oe one which is pretty cool.

The 9833r doesnt need a battery feed it now runs direct from the iso, but you will need to connect the illumination and the tel mute.

The car kit is a hca-20 (£70) and a hcc-30 system cable with hch-30 holder (about £30 combined) and its stuck on with very strong velcro.

I have also added an advanced music mute module which pipes the phone audio through the car speakers, which is really great.

Cheers for the comments! the alpine also lights up amber to match the dash (or if you dont like amber it does 512 other colours)

Craig...

The speakers are a direct replacement. They replace the 13cm spkrs in the front and back.

Only two screws hold them together - diagnolly opposite each other. Dont be fooled by the other holes (theres nothing to hold the screw in).

Tight fit (as the originals are not as deep), but they fit!

Bear in mind that the front originals are not a co-axial spkr, so if you add on, you will get extra treble, but you wont notice it because the ones in the dash are far too loud and tinny (try to change them too!!).

Regards,

Oms.

Great news!! ... Im not gonna bother with the phone kit but I would have thought the illumination was included in the ISO plug. Is it not? ... If I didnt wire it in would the unit be fully illuminated all the time (not a problem as far as Im concerned)

Cheers Tom!

Hi Omar,

Thanks for this ... I must admit I am quite tempted to do this little upgrade. I suppose I should give the standard speakers a bit more chance to wear in though as Ive only had the car about two weeks. Would you say the speakers are a worthwhile upgrade using the standard HU? [until I can be arsed to get replacement HU]

... and one final question (sorry!)

I would have thought there would have been a cross-over (or cheap equivalent) to prevent the trebble to the door speakers? (I am probably being very dumb here ... been a few years since I was into car stereos!!)

Correct me if im wrong anyone, but im sure the Renault crossover is under the standard Renault tweeters in the dash so the door speakers dont get as much treble...

Stunning colour by the way Craig 8)
