Clio 182 Kerb Weight

  Nissan 350Z
I've read various topics on the weight of the 182, and have read anything from about 1090 kg to 1150 kg. It seems clear to me that not many people *really* know the weight of it.

However, according to my handbook (the seperate Renault Sport one), it weighs 1035 kg. And it is the one for the 182 because it has a picture of it, and it clearly has the twin pipes and 182 style alloys.

So which is it then?

If it is 1035 kg then that makes a power to weight ratio of 173.4 bhp per tonne, which for a cheapo hot hatch like the Clio, is incredible.

According to Evo Magazine, the full fat 182 weighs 1110kg and the Cup 1090kg. I'm not sure how accurate these figures are, but if correct a full fat 182 would have a power to weight ratio of 162bhp/ton, and the Cup 165bhp/ton.
I'm not sure how Evo have worked out their power to weight ratios mind, as they list the 182 as 165bhp/ton and the Cup 168bhp/ton?!

Hmm, so who is right? My literature clearly says its 1035 kg... which admittedly seems incredible as my Mk2 Golf was only 115 kg less than that, and that had no ABS, AC, PAS, Electric everything, airbags all over, and all that other crap that comes with it.

  Trophy 265/500
Full fat is heaviest 1110 iirc, then cup 1090, Trophy is a dab lighter than the cup at 1075. Don't think anything is as low as 1035 (unless you start stripping)

I say, who needs a stereo, back seats, door trims, carpet, a dash etc. :)

  Trophy 265/500
Sounds about right, even less toys than the Trophy, but that is the stripped weight, so all the people that added ABS, Air con etc as options would have ended up near Trophy weight (if not a bit more with the old seats).

As we know, those people who didn't add ABS etc get to post threads about their latest festive sleigh ride into fields ;) Just kidding, if I'd been Clio shopping a couple of years back, I'd have gone for the cup too. Nice to see Renault keep the manuals up to date though!
